So far it’s good (size 7) for 8yr old
The quality seems good, appearance is great, and the fit is spot on. I got this for my 8yr old son who is the goal keeper for his travel team. He uses this only on games because it won’t last if he constantly uses it on practice. Every glove will fall apart especially on synthetic grass which destroys the gloves a lot faster. I love the finger savers on the gloves which you can remove if you want. He uses cheaper ones for practice. I would recommend these gloves

So close to being an excellent glove at a reasonable price
Please note that while this review is recent, it was originally written about 18 months ago. I recently purchased a new pair of Renegade Fury gloves and wanted to reference the original review, but I could not locate the review on the product webpage - this was copied from my orders/reviewed page. Durability rating - Originally 2 stars, but I'm adding in a 3rd for the fingersave spines, see final discussion point. I am also rating this section on grip, since there isn't a category for it and grip is going to be important for any keeper. Duribility - I don't feel these gloves held up as well as they should have. Several fingers appear to have worn through the foam layer to the base layer, although I can't be sure since I can't quite see light from a tiny flashlight inserted into the fingers. The palms have held up decently but have worn through more than the fingers - I attribute most of this to my form declining due to COVID. The bottom area of the palms have not "broken open" yet though, which I feel is a strong plus - keepers should not be using this area to catch the ball and as a result these areas can/should be reinforced to prevent prematurely ending up in the garbage. Grip - Initially the grip on these gloves was great, I would have given them 5 stars for that. However as the top most layer began to wear away, so did the grip and this did not take long to happen. I followed the instructions (almost) to the letter - prewash before initial use & dampen before games. I did not handwash after every match/training; instead I washed them once every 1-2 weeks depending on the number of games a week (usually 2-3 games/week), with a trusted keeper glove soap product, and rinsed them after every game (I'm old now, and don't really train any more). In my experience, washing more often than that causes premature deterioration. Value for money rating - Durability rating divided cost, but an arbitrary rating at best. Comparing perceived value/cost of other brands, I think these gloves should retail for around $45-50. To be fair though, I'm often receiving top-end gloves from big brands through people I know for anywhere from half price to free (I'm spoiled, I know), but I'm attempting to consider this rating as if I would have at least paid half price. That means I feel that I'm getting about 40% of the value of these gloves as I would from a pair of gloves roughly twice as much (at retail, MSRP prices). I think cutting the cost of these gloves by $10, $15, or even $20 a pair, would bring them more inline with the value I get from gloves that retail for $150. Renegade seems to regularly offer deals such as 10% off or something in that range, which helps, but that price is still too high in my opinion. Comfort rating - I have worn a size 11 for 25 years. I know how gloves should fit - slightly snug around the finger, but just a little bit of room at the tips. The biggest drawback on these gloves is that they are very tight. Roll finger (and negative cut) tend to be a bit more snug than normal cuts, but these gloves felt like they should have been listed as a size 10; that means if you're reading this and about to order, I would suggest increasing the size you order by 1 (ex: normally an 8, order a 9). While this is subjective, this assessment feels inline with other brands and similar glove cuts. It's a shame that Renegade only produces gloves up to a size 11 though... based on the fit of these gloves, I would love to try them in a size 12, if only Renegade would produce gloves in that size. That aside, these gloves are actually quite comfortable for being a bit undersize. My hands don't overheat during games, and catching/punching/tipping the ball has just the right amount of impact absorption. One last piece to discuss - the fingersave spines. TLDR on this section: good, better than most, but still feels slightly under-engineered & produced. These spines appear to be a single piece of extruded plastic, cut into identical pieces, and then pressed back together and affixed with something akin to duct tape. While the Renegade spines from all 5 pairs I've received appear to have been produced well in this regard, there is little to actually prevent fingers from being bent back or give strength and promote good finger catching positioning. Nothing to lock each individual spine against the next spine in line except for the thin edge of the plastic, which can stretch the backing to the point of breaking since the backing is the only thing keeping them together. If the spines were cut with a very slight angle on them, and I mean 1/2 to 1 degree at most, and then assembled with the edges forming a slight curve when the backing is applied, these spines might be the best in production at this point in time. This could also possibly increase my Value to Money rating by another star in addition to the star I added in the durability rating.

Great finger protection
We ordered the gloves in black. My son uses these gloves as keeper for his HS and travel soccer teams. So far he’s been loving them. They are much more durable than the last couple of pairs he has had. In my opinion, the higher price point is worth it for a guy that is in these gloves for 3-4 games per week plus practices.

Thick and tough!
These goalie gloves are meant for hard play. They are well made and will be able to handle rough play.

Began to peel
The concept is great, sturdy glove meant to increase hand/finger span with extra protection for those little fingers. The price is on the higher end but don't mind paying that much to ensure fingers are not broken... with that being said you would expect quality to be better, my son has only used them around 10 times for 30-45 minutes. One of the gloves has started to peel, it's upsetting when you buy a well know product with a hefty price tag and this occurs. I would expect better quality and the wear and tear to begin after more then only 10 uses. Definitely not a 5 star product.

Great value
As someone who has played goalkeeper for 25+ years, I’ve bought my fair share of goalie gloves. I’m a firm believer of you get what you pay for in this niche space and was actually surprised at how well these have held up for the price. I beat these things up in indoor league twice a week and they have held up to the test superbly! Definitely recommend!

Great gloves with a grip
My son plays varsity soccer and is very particular about his gloves. These are by far his favorite for game days. They have a great grip when catching the ball, easy to clean and I like the go with any goalie jersey he wears.
