This is the second "kitty condo" cage I've recently bought. The first, a 3-tier similar "cat playpen", made by Midwest, proved totally unacceptable in quality and safety. That product's door latches are frustrating and "touchy", it is not sturdy, and worst of all, the platforms included for the cat to jump on/sleep on, etc., have to be zip-tied to keep them from falling down. When I first put my previously feral 12-lb cat Spook in the cage, after a day or two I heard a crash and found her and the platform on the bottom of the cage. Thereafter she stayed on the bottom and would only venture to the first level because I put her food/water there. The wheels were useless, etc. It also had defective welds which made assembly a nightmare! (I contacted Amazon and told them of the problems, and that I no longer had a box to return it in, even if I wanted to try to disassemble the thing, They refunded 50% of purchase, and I am donating it to a cat foster/rescue group who should be able to use it short-term for small cats/kittens...) The Prevue "condo" being reviewed here is, thank goodness, totally different! It is sturdy, the door latches are quality and a dream to use, the assembled unit feels solid and the platforms are stable. Assembly was, respectively, relatively easy and much less complicated. Due to Spook's hesitance/fear of upper levels because of her previous fall, I just got the lower version of this product (it comes in a taller model, also). It has a roomier "footprint" than the Midwest cage, and easily accomodates a good-sized covered litter box and a bed on the bottom. The only down-side I can see is that the bottom, plastic, is actually the base for the entire cage. That is, it doesn't "slide out" or otherwise be removed for cleaning - it IS the cage bottom, and the entire cage unit sets down into grooves around the edge of that pan, and then is clamped down by sturdy plastic clips. So, if it's necessary to really deep-clean the bottom tray, it would need to be unclamped and the entire wire cage assembly lifted off. I think, though, that is a minimal issue because the door system makes it easy to completely get inside the cage for cleaning/vacuuming, etc. I didn't want a cage that sat down low to the ground, and decided to "re-design" things a bit... I researched online for something to set the cage on to elevate it off the floor, and finally found a black, wooden "coffee table" on clearance from K-Mart... The dimensions of the table are slightly smaller than the plastic cage bottom, but I worked that out... I bought some good quality wheels/casters with locks, had the coffee table legs cut off 4" and the casters installed. I then set the plastic cage bottom on top of the table, positioned as desired, and spaced 6 sturdy wood screws through the plastic (with a large washer in place to keep from cracking the tray) and into the coffee table. (I don't anticipate needing to clean the tray other than possible when attached to the table!) I am totally pleased with the result, and love this cage! Spook is also much happier, and actually uses the two platforms - sleeps on one! I'm glad she's off the bottom sleeping pressed up against the litter box!

I love this rolling cage. It is very roomy and easy to move around. The EASIEST assembly I have ever attempted!!! I'm an "older" lady and it took me longer to clean all the styrofoam off the panels than it did to put it together. Hint: use wet papertowels for the styrofoam, it cuts the static. I positioned the panels over the box and wiped and batted the foam down into the box. I put this cage together by myself with no tools as the description says. I think this will be perfect for summer until I get an enclosure built. The plastic pieces are flexible enough to remove without breaking. Yep, I misjudged one of the bottom panels when assembling it and had to remove some of the connectors in order to flip the panel. As most know, removing connectors often results in breaking pieces but I was able to accomplish the removal with a flat head screwdriver with no breakage and reassemble with a fit as tight as the first time. I have a full size litter box and a ball chaser toy in the bottom and still a little room for walking. The sitting shelves are a little difficult to get in place but are a nice tight fit with no wobbling once attached and can be easily moved around for a configuration you like. My kitten is only about four months old, pretty small, so she has a harder time getting to the shelves but as she grows I don't see there being any problem with that since she is an excellent jumper. I was pleasantly suprized to find it had a double door, upper and lower sections, I wasn't sure when I ordered if it had one or two. The only thing I see to improve this cage would be an addition of a ramp that could attach to the side panel that allows for level change for kittens or older cats that don't jump so well. But that's an afterthought, this is a superb cage that I believe will last a long time. It's well worth the money and with Prime I got here (Alaska) with free shipping. I LOVE PRIME!!!! Now I need some attachable hanging toys, LOL. I just may be having more fun with this cage than kitty! I recommend this cage to anyone looking for an indoor or outdoor enclosure.

This was the perfect kitten cage for socializing our feral kittens. The cage had plenty of room for the kittens to jump and climb around safely. It also had room for food and a small litter box on opposite ends of the cage. Following the advice of our vet, we placed the cage in the livingroom so that the kittens could get used to the sounds of the T.V. and other household noises. This also made it easy for us to talk and play with the kittens with less interruption to our daily routine. After the few days the kittens were allowed to explore the house during the day (supervised), and after about 2 weeks they graduated to full-time happily adjusted house cats. We used the cage once more after our female kitten was spayed and needed a calm place to rest for a day or so, but now the kittens are grown and the cage is being stored in the garage. It was as easy to take apart as it was to put together, and I have peace of mind knowing it's there if we need it again. This cage is very nice. It arrived well packaged and undamaged. Assembly took about 30 minutes, but was not difficult. It is very well designed and takes no tools whatsoever, other than something to cut all the tape and straps on the box. Instructions are also very good, easy to understand, and straightforward. The quality is excellent. Once assembled the cage feels quite sturdy and I have no concerns about our cat's safety. The product is designed well, with one glaring exception, which I believe could easily have been avoided. The ledges (or shelves) that provide the multiple levels for the cat, can be installed in a few different locations, however, no matter what configuration you choose, including the recommended one, it will not allow the left door to open as it binds against the shelf clip. There is no configuration that can avoid this, other than placing both shelves at the same level and clipping them to the space between the two sets of doors (which is not practical at all.) If you want them staggered (as shown in the product pictures) then the left shelf will cause the left door to bind and not open even halfway. This happens because the shelf clip is positioned right against the wire for the door which is hinged through the post right next to the shelf clip. They could easily have avoided this problem by either moving the shelf clip over one opening to the left, making the door one opening less wide, make the left door a bit wider and hinge it to the left of the clip, or possibly even just redesigning the clip so it is not as wide or has a more tapered corner. I have attached a few pictures of this. One other note is that the interior size and usable floor space is smaller than we thought it would be based on the product dimensions. If you look closely at the plastic base you will probably be able to see what I mean. There is a raised edge around the outside, then the wire cage itself sits in a channel behind that, then there is another smaller raised edge on the inside that keeps the wire frame in place, then a lower raised edge, and finally you have the floor space left. The dimensions of the flat floor area that you have to place things like a litter box, food bowls, etc. are only 37.5" wide by 19.5" deep. The actual space within the cage (from wall to wall) is 40.5" wide by 22.5" deep. Just something to consider if you're looking to fit specific things in there. I attached a picture of this as well. Also, the latches you have to press together to open the doors are very far apart. I have pretty big hands they seem somewhat awkward even for me as I have to really stretch my thumb and finger to reach them both. Just seems like they could have been a bit closer together. Someone who has shorter fingers or smaller hands might find it somewhat difficult to work with this. The doors do latch closed very well though and I have no fear of the cat jail-breaking herself from the cage. Overall we're happy with this purchase, but a few improvements could easily make this 5 stars.

We have three of these that we've bought over the years and use mostly for foster kittens. When the kittens are small, there's plenty of room for a small litter box and food/water dishes and a blanket to lay down on. When they get a bit older, they can climb up the side, or jump up to the next level. They don't spend a ton of time in there because we let them "free range" most of the time during the day, but we don't feel bad at all when they have to go in this enclosure at night. Great quality and fantastic customer support from the manufacturer.

Great home for my new baby kitten. He was extremely tiny and found abandoned at my store it just happened to be my birthday when he showed up and my husband let me bring him home. We haven’t had a cat in years since our passed away and with eight dogs we wanted to keep him safe until he’s big enough to roam the house! This condo is sturdy and is doing the job he’s still too little to get to the highest shelf but enjoys jumping around it has enough space where he can spend the day in it. It comes with a hammock that he absolutely loves! I think Ill always have to have a hammock for him to sleep in now! Great product I highly recommend! It was very simple to put together! The wheels make for cleaning easy!

I bought this cage after reading hundreds of reviews. This is indeed a great buy. The cage is very sturdy and easy to assemble (read the directions!) The shelves snap in securely and hold up to alot of jumping (he leaps from one to another continuously.) I can tell you the shelves are easy to remove...I put them in the wrong place and the door did not open. There are two doors: one on top and one on the bottom. This is really nice to change food or litter boxes or to retrieve a non cooperating cat. The only negatives are: The casters I received did not come with locks so the thing might roll with all the jumping or leaping. I simply put two wood blocks down and problem is solved. Also black tray is not removable so clean up is crawling into the cage or using a vacuum. Negatives are no big deal. Honestly I think this is the best cage in this category and price range.

This cage is perfect!!! I have two big cats that are only going to get bigger. This is so well made it will last them for ever. I was skeptical about the plastic base and shelves, but they are really strong and easy to change position. It went together very easily, and with no tools. My 12 lb. kitten leaps from one shelf to the other and the cage doesn't shift or move a bit. I was also concerned about how much weight the shelves would hold. No problem. They are good quality thick plastic, easily installed, extremely sturdy. Our cats do not "live" in the cage. We only put them in for a few hours at night and when we leave the house (which is almost never). But we have the corner cat litter box inside as well as food and water (these things are also available to the cats outside the cage), And the cats choose to go inside to sleep, play (and they play rough), eat, and 'you know'. Buying it sight unseen on line, I was so afraid it would be crappy like a cheap bird cage, especially being made by a company I had never heard of. But I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality, ease of set up, and overall sturdiness. I highly recommend this item.

Eigentlich war dieser Katzenkäfig für Outdoor gedacht. Aber in der kalten Jahreszeit steht er im Haus und wurde von meinem Kater zum Lieblingsschlafplatz auserkoren, in dem es sich auch vortrefflich herumhüpfen lässt. In der Wohnung freilich bei geöffnetem Türl. Der Zusammenbau war kein Problem. Der Käfig ist sehr stabil und kann dank der Rollen leicht verschoben werden.

I bought this cage for my ferrets and it has been a great hit. I like the space and the ease with which I could clean it. I'm also really enjoying the shelves that are movable. I'm going to order some more shelves to add to this cage.

Before I bought this cage, my sleep was constantly disturbed by my cats chasing each other and scratching at my bedroom door. They now stay in the cage during the evening which has eliminated any disturbances that they previously caused. The cage is easy to put together and very spacious for them, and encourages them to cuddle up, which is cute to see. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone with cats, who struggle to sleep at night because of them.
