The gasket would not compress evenly and this allowed air to get into the freezer, and in worst cases, thaw much of the food in the freezer before the leaky door was discovered. After this happened several times over the past couple or so years I concluded that either the door problem had to be fixed or we should buy a new freezer. I chose the Powertec 20306 Latch-action Toggle Clamp because I have worked with similar clamps in my design work as a mechanical engineer. I was particularly interested in the adjustability feature of the clamp mechanism which makes it easy to fit up the clamp, then compensate for any wear in the clamp as well as in the gaskets on the refrigerator door. The long reach of the clamp was also critical to me as the clamp had to reach from the main body of the freezer and across the thick gasket between the body and door, then engage with the catch portion fastened to the door. I had planned out the installation beforehand and it was simple to drill the six holes to attach the clamp parts using sheet metal screws. Total assembly time took approximately an hour,once I had all the parts and fasteners on hand. The clamp works exactly as desired and does an excellent job of maintaining a tight seal on the freezer door. Both my wife and I are delighted with the results --- no more soft ice cream or partially thawed foods because of the leaky gasket on the freezer door!

We bought this for our smoker and it is very durable and has strong clamping force. It functions easy and is very versatile for anything that you just need to keep shut! The size of the clamp is great for our fridge smoker!

Awesome works great - 5 stars - Worth the Money

This is a heavy duty and very nice latch. The biggest issue I had is with the "locking" position. White it does set tight, the fulcrum position is dead center which not only allows this to pop open with minimal tension, it allows it to pop open if there's any movement... at all! I had to cut down the mount on the front side to allow the cross bar more room to seat. Once that was accomplished these seem to hold well. The manufacturer needs to make this design improvement since this is a pretty major flaw in the current design. I would still recommend these to a friend.

We have an upright freezer that doesn't get shut all the way and we have lost o bunch of food because of this problem. I installed this latch on the side and it does a great job fo keeping the door shut. The red handle work as a great reminder it latch the door.It was easy to install and adjust. I would recommend.

I bought these do to there large size. On my shop I have sliding darn dooand these will work perfectly

I needed something to draw two sliding doors together on my shed and maybe keep the weather out a little better. Installed two on a 9' tall pair of doors and they looked like they're working--at least a bit. Also acting as extra security against prying from the outside.

This is a very solid, strong draw in latch with a great range of adjustability. I would prefer the handle go "over center" a bit more, and used a hand grinder to have it do just that that. The price and performance really hard to beat. Totally happy.
