This stethoscope is worth every penny! Unlike other cheaper models it’s not torture on your ears. It does a great job. Highly recommend!

They work excellent for finding any ticking noises in your engine compartment, at a good price point. Don’t know how they would hold up on a commercial application, but for the home shop they’re great.

I recently purchased the Mechanic's Stethoscope and have used it on a few different occasions. Overall, I'd give it a 4 out of 5 stars. The stethoscope is well-made, and the earpieces are comfortable to wear. The various attachments are also a nice touch, allowing me to narrow down the source of any mechanical issues. However, I did encounter a few issues with the stethoscope. It wasn't always able to pick up on faint noises, and I found myself having to move the attachment around quite a bit to get a clear reading. Despite this, the Mechanic's Stethoscope is still a useful tool and has saved me time and frustration when diagnosing mechanical issues. It's not perfect, but it gets the job done.

I bought this to identify the sound coming from my engine compartment. Generally speaking, if you are hearing some new/weird sounds from your engine, it is very hard to pinpoint due to many moving parts in a regular engine and many different sound sources. I was concerned that the sound may have been coming from valves, water pump, bearings or alternator. After I purchased the stethoscope, it was extremely quick to rule out the others and identify that the sound was coming from the alternator. The second time I used was during a car purchase. It was clear that the valve train had issues on the left bank of a v-8 and I walked away from the car. This is not an item that you will use it daily if you are not a mechanic or do repairs on complex machines everyday but to be honest, it pays itself with maybe one instance, by saving so much time on identifying or ruling out the potential issues on any mechanical device. the earpieces are comfortable, it looks much more well built and high quality compared to 7-8$ knock-off, the sound is crisp and clear almost like a hi-fi headphone at very high volume. Highly recommended.

Works great However the packaging makes the tube part permanently bent and deformed in some areas.

It works very well. I can hear things very clear around the engine parts. Just make sure you don’t tap on metal, it will be very loud.

Had a noise coming from the car. From doing some reading online I figured it’s the AC compressor clutch pulley bearing. I bought this stethoscope to make sure before buying a clutch kit. I used it today and put the probe against the alternator which didn’t make much noise, the power steering pump which makes a really weird noise through the stethoscope, and finally I touched it to the back side of the compressor and could hear the noise I’ve been hearing for 3 years off and on clear as day. I just ordered the clutch kit and will have it installed aswell as the tensioner pulley, idler pulley, and serpentine belt checked.

Nothing was bent or kinked but buyer beware, this is LOUD. It is a little uncomfortable but it is a very snug fit and is well built, I can see this lasting a very long time. The price doesn't reflect how high quality this is. Great product.
