CUTTEREX 13 INCH 360° VINYL Floor Cutter for VCT, LVT, PVC, Rubber Floor and VINYL Plank

Bought this to install Nucore 8mm lvp. It works exactly as described. It is smaller and lighter than a normal flooring cutter (one that only cuts one direction) so sometimes the cuts require a little elbow grease but it’s not unreasonable. The ability to cut length wise makes this one a game changer. When notching boards you just have to be careful and follow the guidelines for scoring first before trying to go all the way through. Some boards would split a little but I was still able to use them. Well worth the money, especially if renting isn’t really an option because you do projects one or two hours at a time after your kids are in bed.

This Cutter is amazing! So simple and effective. In the past I would have measured it and brought it out to the garage to cut with a saw but this cutter cut all that unnecessary work out. Simply push the handle down and the plank is cut with no mess and a clean cut. I would highly recommend this if you are planning to put your own floor down. I was able to do it by myself in less than 8 hours.

I really appreciate that this tool was on sale and seems to be of quality workmanship. The packaging was excellent and I received it in a timely manner and I love that you can actually do tip cuts with this tool! However, when it comes to cutting tile, the description says that it is a 13 inch LVT flooring cutter and that is somewhat misleading. As you can see in my photos I was using a 12 5/8 inch wide LVP flooring and even though the cutter does function well you can only cut so deep with the cutter. What I mean by that is, let’s say you needed to cut tile in half. You could not do that with this cutter because the tile does not slide all the way between the frame of the cutter base. The only way to cut a tile in half would be to nibble away at one end of the tile until you get down to your markings, which would result in wasting an entire half a piece of flooring. It seems to me that it would’ve been easier to manufacture the entire apparatus about an inch and a half wider so that a 13 inch tile could slide all the way through to make a cut at any point in a 13”x24” tile. It really is small things like this that could make such a huge difference in manufacturing tools when they are being advertised with a capability of doing one thing but the engineers stop short of designing a tool to do EXACTLY what they say it should. Other than that it is functional and a quality build for the price.

This is excellent- I have been using it to cut the NuCore flooring from Floor & Decor (6.5mm SPC vinyl plank). It has a guide for 90 cuts and a depth setter for longitudinal cuts. Takes a bit of effort but gets through them no problem.

Works great so far on Rigid core LVP Im about 500sqft so far of finishing my basement. It does Crack the plank a little bit past the end of the blade by an couple inches when I try to cut lengthwise buts its getting the job done

I purchased this Feb 28th. I am redoing my kitchen and of course the last thing I wantes to do were my floors after painting and staining everything. I finally opened the box on April 4th to get started on the floors and the cutter would not work. I have 8 mm flooring and it would NOT cut all the way through. I read the instructions on how to adjust the blade with no avail. While looking at the bolts to adjust the blade I noticed the bracket that holds the nut and screw on the left side was broken. So I said, ahhhh, maybe thats why it doesnt work. Well, guess what?? My return window is closed so now, I'm stuck with this junk that dont work and cant return it. I saw other reviews that said their was broken also so just beware!!!

This tool is essential. I was originally told that I would not need it. That was so not the case. I wasted about 4 boxes before I admitted defeat. This tool is invaluable in installing laminate flooring.

This isn't a horrible cutter, but if you're going to ship it with a cheap blade, you should include a couple spares. One of the main reason I chose this cutter was the ability to cut the vinyl the long way. First time I did, things seemed to go ok. I tried a couple more times and the cutter would crack the piece of vinyl rendering it unuseable. I'm presuming that was due to the dull blade. The blade went dull pretty fast.

The item came already assembled, except one; connecting the handle to the unit. I didn't like the way the handle is connected to the unit. You just push it down in but I didn't notice anything to confirm the connection is firm. Also I didn't see a washer (as depicted) which is supposed to be placed between the unit surface and the handle. I used it for cutting 6 mm vinyl plank boards. I didn't think that the cut needs such a force I found. (Because of the softness of the plank as well as the sharpness of the blade, I thought the cutting will be easy, next to cutting butter, so to speak.) Overall, it is worth for the money, I'd say.

This tool comes in super handy for straight cuts width wise, however for any other type of cut it is cumbersome to setup, specially if they are one off cuts. I bought this thinking it would allow me to cut vinyl planks length wise however it splits/tears the vinyl planks after your first cut. You can go a lot faster with a table saw or jigg saw for this specific purpose. Also the build quality is so so. It annoyed me that the ruler which is supposed to guide you in your measurements is a sticker which tends to fall off. I would buy a model with less features since in reality it is only suitable for straight cuts width wise.
