Try it, you won't be dissapointed.
Karen's husband review: I'm a single origin guy. I like bright Costa Rican and acidic, wine Ethiopian natural and honey processed coffees. I aeropress most of the coffee I drink, and use a pour over for bulk brewing. I have a professional grinder and use a digital scale and temp controlled kettle. I'm THAT kind of coffee snob. Having said that, this coffee is the only flavored coffee that I not only will drink, but look forward to its place in my rotation. What they have done here is magic. They took caramel, butterscotch and hazelnut (or is it walnut?) and tastefully infused a wonderfully medium roasted bean with a precise hand at the throttle. Drink it black, I do. And that's saying something as most flavored coffee is cheap harsh commodity grade stuff that needs cream and sugar to be tolerated. Then they offer it for a very reasonable price, and it's my understanding that they roast in batches, hense the occasional lulls in availability. I find 2lbs too much to get through in my 5-6 bean rotation in time, so I split the bag with someone, but if you like good quality and highly affordable flavored coffee, you've found all you might ever need. Gosh, it's good chilled over ice, too. I'm contemplating trying their other varieties as well. It's great stuff, if for some reason you don't like it, make a cup for a friend and ask if they want the bag. I guarantee there are not two people in any given area that both dislike this coffee. It's not possible. **EDIT 5-19-20** Itโs still just as good! We have increased our consumption of this to where we canโt share the bag anymore. Also, donโt hesitate to try the Cow Tipper, I donโt know which I like more now vs the Mississippi Grog, but we find ourselves enjoying Verena street even a little more on weekends when we have time to enjoy coffee throughout the day. I send a ground pouch out to my mother and have got a couple friends to try and enjoy. Thereโs nothing like single origin beans, but donโt miss out on a well brewed cup of Verena St, with a good, well thought out flavor that is strong but not overwhelming. If for some reason you donโt like it, give it to another coffee drinker you know, I bet they will.

Very nice coffee to start your day
Never bitter, good flavor. This is a hard flavor to find and I love being able to buy a huge bag at a decent price.

Quality Grogg-Affordable
Finding Highlander Grogg has changed my coffee experience. Always fresh and in perfect condition. Verena Street HG provides me with AWESOME looking, smelling, and tasting, flavored coffee. Not much need for sweets or creamer. But, hazelnut creamer added to the Butterscotch, Caramel, and Hazelnut flavored grogg is beyond decadent. No other brand of grogg coffee seems to offer that great taste blended with a reasonable price. I've tried many. I do add organic gallberry honey and high quality brown sugar. A true glutton I've become. The flavor........๐ซ ๐๐คฉ

Fantastic - from a non-coffee drinker
I'm not a real coffee drinker. I've never owned a coffee maker (except a borrowed french press YEARS ago that I used a couple times). If I do drink coffee it's from Dunkin donuts or some other store and mostly consists of sugar and cream to obscure the taste of *bleh* coffee. As soon as I opened this bag my house smelled glorious - halzenutty maybe(?) - it honestly made me hungry! I'd buy a candle of this scent! I just made my first cup [ever] with my brand new drip coffee maker and it's delicious. Shockingly, no creamer or sugar needed. If it's not obvious I generally HATE coffee, when I drink it while visiting family out of town it necessitates ~1/4 of my cup being sugary, flavored creamer. This coffee doesn't need any of that! It tastes amazing! Take my review for what it is: written by someone who doesn't have much knowledge of coffee, who doesn't know the "extensive flavor profiles" of various coffees and honestly didn't know coffee could taste like anything besides coffee. So maybe this isn't as amazing as I think... but if you generally don't like coffee without heaps of sugar and creamer and have made the decision to start drinking it, this is a great place to start. I'll stick with this probably forever.

Good quality coffee, good quality flavor.
This stuff is delicious. Smells amazing, tastes like it smells. If you're into sweet, flavored coffees that doesnt taste "flavored," this is perfect. If you like your regular coffee, but just want to give it a little something extra, this is exactly right. The beans are fresh and oily and the flavor is really soaked through - not just a coating - for an even, balanced brew. Perfectly respectable medium roast all on it's own, it has great body and a nice, smooth coffee flavor. I prefer it as a mixer to smooth out my dark roast and it is just what I was looking for. It balances out the acidity and bitterness to my Italian roast and adds more complexity and body to both the Italian roast and my go-to dark roast, Pablo's Pride (Guatemalan), without compromising the quality of the coffee itself. Flavored coffees are much easier to find in a poor quality bean, which tastes like weak, flavored dirt on it's own and ends up taking away from the natural coffee flavor-body-balance, etc, when mixing. Always disappointing to find a nice quality coffee and, when you're looking to just spruce/change it up a bit, end up ruining it with what you realize, too late, to be flavored sawdust. My cup of joe still tastes like a damn good cup of joe when I use it - balanced and full of quality coffee taste - just with a little something extra. The best part about it to me is that it tastes like natural, real ingredients, and the body and creaminess of the brew compliments the flavored elements. It truly adds more than just taste to your brew. I mix it about 20/80 with Pablo (a more balanced, medium-dark roast) and about 35/65 with the Italian to get my balanced and tasty cuppa. I've only brewed with it on my fancy regular drip, so far, but I'm sure the flavor would be even more creamy and aromatic in a press. It does smell amazing. I get really amped for my coffee when i smell it brewing. Lol Definitely recommend. I'd like it to be a bit more affordable (like -10cents/oz), but at this quality, I'll definitely keep it in my rotation. I just wont buy it as much - treat only. #budgeting Here's Pablo. Mixes perfectly: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B008FW60DG/ref=cm_sw_r_apa_i_ttpGEbBRYYCDY

Tried to stay away, but it is too good!
About two years ago my kids bought me a french press coffee maker. I was amazed at how much better the coffee I made in the French press was to automatic drip or Keurig cups. In fact, I was able to buy very inexpensive coffee from Aldi and get a much better cup than with more expensive coffee made with the other brewing methods. Then I received a 2 lb bag of Mississippi Grogg as a gift. As soon as I opened the bag I knew I was in trouble. The aroma of this coffee is intoxicating. I expected it to taste "flavored" since the bag describes it as butterscotch, caramel and hazelnut. I actually think it just accentuates the coffee flavor! The flavor is exceptional. After finishing the bag, I tried to go back to my inexpensive options. Unfortunately, between the French press and the Mississippi Grogg, I'm a full on coffee snob. While I fought the urge to buy more, the price is very reasonable. Under $.60/oz for coffee this good is tough to argue. I'm hooked. The negative reviews here are really surprising, but I suppose everyone has their own taste buds. While I'm a little frustrated that I'm hooked on Mississippi Grogg, I am thankful that I'm paying well under premium coffee prices.
