Works well initially but deteriorates in time.
I purchased this pump to replace my CRV's differential fluid. Initially, pumping the fluid up was pretty easy however, the hose got harder and the pump stopped working in time. It strikes me as a one time use device.

Works great, pumps everything I need it to
Even though it doesn’t fit my jug cap it still is usable and does exactly what I need it to do and it does it really good so it’s a great hand pump and works exactly as I needed it to do

Convenient Pump at a Good Price
My new Honda Ridgeline requires changing of not only the oil on a regular basis, but also the rear differential fluid, which calls for Honda VTM-4 fluid (1-gallon), the ATF (transmission fluid), which takes 3.5 qts. of Honda DW-1 ATF fluid per change, and the transmission transfer case, which requires about ½ a quart of 75w90 gear oil. The engine oil can easily be refilled using a funnel from up above, but for the other fluids having a pump to refill them makes it easier- especially the rear differential and the transfer case, which have to be refilled from under the vehicle. It's very hard to pour something from down below...much easier to pump it into the opening! Many fluids don't like to be mixed or contaminated with other fluids, so I bought one of these pumps for each different kind of fluid I have to change. I have three of these pumps! You could probably run some of the fluid you are changing through the pump first to clean out the previously used fluid, but that can get messy and then you have to also dispose of that fluid too. The price on this pump was a dollar less than what I would pay a the local home center, so it was well worth it to have a few of these on hand. I label each one for the fluid it is used for, and when I'm done I just keep them all in a 5-qts ice cream pail in case any fluid seeps from the pump or tubes while they are not being used.

Works well but price has increased
I bought this as well as the 1 gallon version to work on a relative's car. I have a couple of other ways of filling differentials and transfer cases with fluid (electric transfer pump, suction gun), but their car has a "non-serviceable" (yeah, right) transfer case with a fill plug but no drain. It's in a difficult location to reach and I wanted something very compact to reduce the amount of swearing I would do while filling it. (In case you're wondering, I used the electric transfer pump to drain it first). I've used pumps like this in the past and this one works well. It pumps a small amount of fluid with each stroke and, while it takes a while, the effort is minimal even when pumping something viscous like gear oil. Screw it into a bottle, stick the hose in whatever you want to fill, and pump. The hardest part is keeping the hose from flopping out of position as you pump, which can cause you to dribble gear oil everywhere but where you want it. Some other pumps have a plastic spring clip that keeps the end of the hose in place, but this one doesn't. Not a big deal but something to keep in mind. I sometimes use a spring clamp to clip the hose where I want it, which is an extra step but makes life easier. I knocked off a star because the price has increased quite a bit (from about $9 when I bought it to just over $13). For the new price, you can get a nicer pump with a retaining clip for the hose. This one works fine but is no longer a very good value. This pump works well, and if you buy it you probably won't regret it, but comparison shop first. There are pumps available for $8-$9 that may be a better value.

Works great
Perfect for diff fill up. Eaay to use and able to get into weird spots with little room.

Better than the handheld pumps.
The pump fits onto a 1 gallon windshield wiper fluid container, though the extension hose for the bottom was a little too short so not all fluid can be pumped out.The end/tip of the hose is small enough to fit into the transmission fluid dipstick but the length is too short to place the pump on top of the engine. I had to use another hose to extend the length. The extension fits nicely and tight on the pump tip. It is tapered so it was easy to put it on snug and tight. It took about 30 pumps to pump a quart, so it took less than a minute per quart of transmission fluid. I like this pump much better than the handheld ones (without the ability to screw it onto a container). No mess. Once done, I just unscrew the pump and take the hose and pump the fluid in the hose back into the container. Also, the pump comes with a clip for the hose so it just doesn't dangle on the ground and drip or get dirty.

I got this because I was tired of using a small funnel to fill dirt bike engines with oil. The funnel would slip and make a mess plus the oil was slow to get through the funnel. Now I just pump the oil into the engine. It might be a bit slower but it’s cleaner and you can count the number of pumps needed to fill the engine.
