My husband watched our 10-year-old load up her new JanSport backpack and muttered, “Is she going to school or the Appalachian Trail?” Honestly, same. Did I see her pack her Stanley in it? That's impressive! This bag is perfect—simple, durable, lightweight, and apparently cool enough to pass the ever-critical 5th-grade fashion test. It holds all the essentials: folders, books, snacks, extra snacks, 47 pencils, and whatever mysterious rock she found at recess. The padded straps and back panel make it comfy, and it’s sturdy enough to survive being launched across the living room after school. Bonus: it’s made with recycled materials, so now I get to feel smug and organized. If your tween is opinionated and packing like she’s escaping the suburbs, this backpack delivers. Even my husband’s impressed. (And slightly worried she might actually be leaving.)

Great backpack. Definitely not a fake. It’s roomie, great quality, lots of space. All the zippers were working. My son was very happy with this backpack. It’s exactly as he expected and now he has a stylish backpack that just like all the other teenagers. Lol

Perfectly good backpack but not big enough for a middle school student and all she has to carry for school (Chromebook, 2.5-in binder, headphones, pencil case, lunchbox, water bottle) Durable though. Just not the right choice size-wise.

I bought this backpack for my 7-year-old son to start the new school year, and it’s exactly what I expected from a classic JanSport. This design has been around for years, and it doesn’t disappoint. It’s sturdy, lightweight, and has just the right amount of pockets without being overcomplicated. The side pocket doesn’t hold today’s oversized water bottles, but that’s not a dealbreaker—those huge flasks usually need to be carried by hand anyway. Overall, a reliable and timeless backpack that works perfectly for elementary school.

Bought this for my daughter who wanted a smaller backpack. She loves it and it’s excellent quality.
