Love these socks, I have purchased multiple times. I have washed mine 4-5 times already and they keep going. I clean with a high setting on my hose, store in a bucket until wash day, soak in bleach, wash in bleach, add extra rinse cycle. Dry for a couple days in the air, then use seachem prime usually before putting in the tank. Great quality, perfect size, very easy to clean, and functions like it should. I am not sure why other people have had issues, I have never had issues and will continue to buy more as needed.

Original let detritus pass through it but replacement is now a 200 micron sock. Impressive customer service.
These filter socks are not 200 micron at all. The cloth is so thin in parts that there are easily 1-2mm holes random throughout the cloth. If you are trapping large debris then it works but anything small like detritus and this sock just lets it on through to the floor of my sump. Would not buy again.UPDATE: A week after my order, Encompass All sent replacement filter socks at no charge to me that had different felt material. The replacement was definitely an improvement and was up to my expectations of what the stated 200 micron sock would be. Great customer service. Would order again if the 8.5 Inch (Short Version) had the new felt material that was on the replacements.

Much better than the original eShopps ones!
Got these to replace a few of the ones that have since torn off the plastic hang necks after a few years of use (OEM). Shorter length as is designated in the description than the previous ones I bought but made much better. The filter sock is actually close to double the thickness and around the plastic ring neck the fabric is actually sewn on (and sealed) not just heated or glued on like the originals were. I had purchased a few extra sets of 3 when I bought the eShopps rs175 for my 36 gallon bowfront Saltwater/Reef tank as backups and noticed that after a few years the ones that weren't used seemed to get somewhat brittle around the neck and tore very easily rendering them useless after only a few times of use. I think because of the thickness of these they make take a little more time to clean but that's fine so long as they work and last. I changed my filter socks every 3-5 days and then soak them in bleach water for a week or so. Rinse and clean them in the shower to remove the chlorine bleach and then soak them for another week or two in RO/DI water. Has worked great for over 6 years to clean filter socks.These are absolutely an upgrade in quality from the originals!
