My PC crashed and I attempted to restore a recent System Image created in Windows 10, but it repeatedly failed with error code 0X80042412. After starting over, I decided not to use this deprecated Windows feature again and turned to a third party backup solution. Shortly after purchasing NTI Backup Now EZ 7 | New Version 7.5, you will receive an email with a code to download and activate the software. Approximately one week later you will receive a boxed CD-ROM. After I downloaded the software, I attempted to install the full version and it appeared to hang up. I recommend installing the Trial Version first and then activating the software after it is installed as activation seemed to take a little bit of time, which accounted for the apparent software hang up when I entered the serial number before attempting to install the full version of the software. The advice here is to be patient with the activation process. Backups can be done On Demand, Hourly, Daily, Weekly, or Monthly. As far as I can tell, there are no size limits for backups other than storage limitations for cloud service, and local or network drive capacities. Data encryption and compression is available for all backups, and there is a variable capacity alert option to let you know when the backup destination is near the selected capacity. There are three backup options. The backup menus are well thought and simple to understand and use. NTI has a webpage dedicated to Backup Now EZ 7.5 which includes demo videos and frequently asked questions. You can backup Multi-media, Documents, and Email (Outlook and Windows Mail) & Favorites (Firefox and Chrome) to the NTI Cloud, Dropbox, Google Drive, and OneDrive. Monthly subscription for the NTI Cloud varies from $4.99 for 32GB, $9.99 for 64GB, $19.99 for 64GB, and $39.99 for 256GB. File backup options mirrors cloud backups, except they are done to a local or network drive. Entire PC Backup / System Image can be done to a local or network drive. I opted for an entire PC Backup / System Image. The software allows you to make the local backup drive bootable before it creates the system image. I tested the backup and sure enough it was bootable which is nice because it doesn’t need a separate bootable recovery drive or disc like Windows System Backup. NOTE: To boot from the backup drive or bootable USB, you must disable Secure Boot in BIOS Setup. Otherwise, you will get a Secure Boot Violation: Invalid signature detected. Check Secure Boot Policy in Setup. My complete OS / System drive backup was quick. After rebuilding my PC, my OS drive had 56.82GB of data (OS, Programs, and Personal Data) and it took about 10 minutes to do a complete PC Backup. My OS drive and backup drive are both SSD so a complete PC backup will take a bit more time when using mechanical drives. I’m still using Windows 10, but according to NTI the 2024 version supports Windows 11. The software Settings Menu allows you to create a bootable USB drive, do a Backup Cleanup, View Log File, Software Registration, Shop NTI, Check for Updates, and Language Selection. Overall, this is a reasonably priced, comprehensive backup package which comes with a perpetual license for 1 computer (no annual subscription required). It is an EZ way to back up your PC.

Bought this product to do am image backup. The marketing fluff is quite ambiguous on what it actually does or doesn't do. OK - it never actually promised image backup. But what I expected is that it could find and utilize a mapped Windows drive. They didn't show up under drives, and they didn't show up on Network. This makes it unusable in my environment. Uninstalled.

Back up is fast. Only used local backup so don’t know about cloud services Restore was worked

I think this software does not work well with Windows 11 Home version 22H2. I love the fact that their software is immediately available for download, so you can start using it right away. That is great service. I tried the software download and it was simple and easy to use. Soon, I was backing up my system and I was very happy. Unfortunately, it failed after partitioning my external hard drive. Now I have a small partition on my external hard drive that I cannot use and I do not have a backup. I thought it was a problem with the download, so I waited for the software to come to my house. When it came I put in another external hard drive, because I did not want to use the one that the download software had partitioned and started the backup. Hours later, I have two drives with partitions and no backup. I wondered if I had some software that was conflicting with the backup. So, I copied my important files from my Documents, Pictures, Music and Videos onto those drives and reset my machine to factory default. I now had my software and Windows 10 Home. I copied the files back from the drives and tried the backup. SUCCESS! It worked with Windows 10 Home and my files and none of my software. I installed my software and did an update. It worked again. I spent the night redownloading Windows 11 Home 22H2 into the system and tried to update the backup. It failed. So I had to make a decision, and I decided to return the software. They were great about it. I got my money back very quickly after returning the NTI Backup Now EZ 7 software. Their service was impeccable the whole time. And their software does work in Windows 10 but I want the latest OS and a backup too.

The software seems to be working now. However, I cannot seem to find any way to get support.

1. Complete, comprehensive and easy to install and use this software. 2. Has all of the technical sophistication through an easy to understand user interface 3. Fast backup, rich capabilities 4. Appreciate NTI sending me the download registration code prior to the arrival of the physical disk. 5. Finally, a company that's in good ole Orange County, CA (former home) always deserves 5 stars :)

Wasn't able to get product to download on my computer. Returned it to NTI only to be advised I was being charged a restocking fee.
