This is the finest I've had. Chewie and clean. The health benefits are wonderful too; loaded with iron and so many other nutrients. Frankly, I have not used as a bacon etc. I eat dulse from the bag like popcorn while watching a film. Not too much as it is so tasty I suppose you could do a bag at a sitting. Don't. This nutrient powerhouse is best in 1/2 once (and that's a big helping) indulgences. You either like it's day-at-the-sea flavor or you don't. I share and have black and white responses. Try this brand/sea veggie, and if you like it, you will have discovered a wonderfully healthful treat. Texture is kinda like fruit leather and its taste is smokey sea. That's the best I can think to describe. I did 'toast' a few small pieces in toaster oven (350 for 5 minutes) and got a crunchier version with same delightful taste.

I have been using this for years and must rave about it; it is consistently fresh, supple, carefully harvested and packaged, and tasty, It lends itself to just slapping in sandwiches as well as using in any soups or stir-fries I might make. It may have a blush of sea-salt on it, but that's the nature of dried seaweed.

Update: great customer service, I hate to leave bad reviews but I just have to right now. They sent me replacement bags and it is really just SO bad! My son refuses to drink his smoothies when I put this brand of dulse in it and I don't blame him. The taste is awful, it's got a ton of shells n such (which they warn you about, but I feel it's excessive compared to what I normally get in another brand), and it's not soft and chewy at all, hard to tear apart. Pretty disappointed. I LOVE dulse.. but I prefer a different brand of dulse. This brand doesn't have a pleasant taste, smell or texture... it is fine if it's what you can afford though.

Over the years, I have used a number of brands of dulse and must say that this one is probably my favorite. The sea weed is moist just enough that you can put it into your salads or enjoy it as it is. I do like to snack on dulse, and this one does not dry your mouth. Flavor is good too, mild enough that you can easily introduce your kids to it. This is by far the most economical package of good quality dulce I found and will come back for more. I don't mind at all that the package is not resealable. After opening any sealed package I always put the content into a glass or ceramic jar with tight lid. This way the produce stays fresh longer.

To me, the gold standard for whole leaf dulse is Maine Coast brand, but this is close and is better priced. The leaves are noticeably thicker than MC, but the flavor, freshness and quality are on par. Highly recommend!

I like this brand and didn't have problems with stones in the product. I bought the whole leaf style, and I feel it is as good as the Maine Coast brand of wild Atlantic dulse. It was fresh and tasted exactly the same as the what I've come to expect from Maine Coast, except the price was better. One caveat, the expiration date was marked as only a few days after when I bought it, which doesn't make sense. Seaweed doesn't really go bad (mostly stale/hard) and what I received was very soft/fresh. Maybe the date was supposed to mean something else. In any case, it's been probably a month since I purchased the product, and it's still soft and tasty.

I've only bought one package of this dulse at the time of this writing, and I have nothing to complain about. So far I've only used about half the 4oz package and I have not found one trace of shell fragment, gravel or hard dense matter; and I've been very carefully watching for it based on other review comments regarding this issue. I have notice a small amount of the white residue but this doesn't concern me. I've noticed this residue with other brands of dulse and as the manufacturer states, it is a harmless residual that forms naturally due to the salts present in the waters where the dulse grows; others that have reviewed this product mistake it for being mold or mildew. Aside from those comments, I feel this is a quality product and I plan to purchase it again. I do recommend others try it!

Bacon recipe: I actually fry it in bacon fat with a hit of salt. It's delicious and a lot healthier than straight up bacon. Dulse is without a doubt the most delicious fried vegetable I've ever tasted. It will lighten in color when it's ready, it gets crispy and it tastes like a super rich delicious bacon. Every cook should acquaint themselves with this product, which will absolutely be the next kale. Except it tastes good. It has such a rich salty flavor that it honesty tastes like plant bacon. Have used it in conjunction with kombu to make super rich dashi broth. Probably is delicious in any broth. Also, somehow it's good for you. Meanwhile bacon is only good for the soul.

Super Produkt. Tue es täglich in meinen Heavy-Metal-detox-Smoothie. Und für die Knabberlust zwischendurch, wenn ich Lust auf was salziges habe. An den Geschmack hab ich mich erst gewöhnen müssen, jetzt lieb ich die Dulse. Aber bestimmt nicht für jeden ein Genuss pur gegessen ;)

These make a great snack, salad topper or soup addition. Great when the salt tooth hits. Approved by my 2 year old daughter as well which was a plus. So far no shells as is common with seaweed, but I do keep looking. Will purchase again.

This stuff is delicious! Nice thin and chewy texture. Wonderful for those of us who just enjoy eating it. Personally I could feel my thyroid just delighting in it!
