Contrary to Amazon's recommendation,the OEM16546AA12A is the correct OEM genuine air filter for my 2018 Subaru Forester 2.5i Premium car. It fits perfectly and took 2 minutes for me to easily install. It definitely is a genuine OEM part made by Subaru of America (Fuji Heavy Industries Inc is the parent Co. that owns Subaru) and both names are printed on the box as well as made in USA. I originally got a NAPA Gold FIL 9012 which is supposed to fit a 5th gen Subaru Outback. The NAPA one did not quite fit...you could just barely force it in, but it wasn't sitting right. I am much happier with this OEM part which fit perfectly, making it a 5 minute install instead of a 1 hour attempted install like with the aftermarket filter.

Installed on my 2012 wrx. It fits but leaves a little gap.

Worked for my 2015 Forester XT. Can be easily changed by lifting the 2 closing clips on the top of the air filter housing. - Slide the old filter out -Make note of the direction it is facing -Slide the new one into its place. See my photo for location

I’ve used other air filters for my Subaru but they did not fit into the air filter housing as well as this one. In fact, one name brand aftermarket filter wouldn’t even allow the filter housing cover to close properly. I decided it was better to stay with the air filter that the vehicle came with from the factory and this is it. Don’t believe the hype from aftermarket filter manufacturers. It doesn’t matter how long their filters last and how many microns of dirt they can filter out of the air if they don’t fit properly. This is the one that will fit your Subaru properly.

Matches exactly what dealers in Canada sells. Local dealer here in GTA Ontario Canada sells these for 39.95 + HST and I got these for $33 CAD converted. That is not a bad price and changing your Engine Air Filtration Element is easy and quick. No more than 5 min. If these can be anymore cheaper (moving the import fees for some), I can guarantee you that sales of Amazon will beat dealerships.

Used this filter for my JDM 2007 Subi. It perfectly fits and it was easy to install.
