Aragon Globe, 12" Desktop World Globe, Raised Relief, Up-to-date Cartography, Smart Intelli-enabled World Map, Made in the USA, Blue

I'm quite impressed with the quality of this globe! Because I teach a middle school geography class to homeschoolers, accuracy was at the top of my list for a globe. I also wanted a good quality that would last for a while, heavy enough to not tip over easily, the oceans to be blue, to be made in the USA, and the size to be large enough for students at the back of the room to understand concepts (lines of lattitude/longitude, equator, tropics, hemispheres, etc.). I was not interested in illumination, star maps, or anything else. Just give the facts, and make it look good. I finally apprehensively ordered this one, and am so glad that I did. It is beautiful, functional, sturdy, and fits my needs. Only two things I'd liked to see in this that I didn't get: for reasons known but to God, China and Taiwan are the same color even though they are NOT the same country, and the colors are not bold, but slightly muted. That probably makes it easier to read up close, but it is slightly harder to see at a distance. Regardless, I'm pleased with my purchase, and in spite of having to explain the China/Taiwan thing, I'm glad that I have this globe.

We purchased a beat up and out of date globe from the thrift store because it had this pen attached to it that told facts and played music from around the world. Our son loved it but Inevitably the pen broke. We searched high and low for an electronic globe that looked similar. We found a lot of electronic globes but they were all too fancy. We didn't want to detract from the beauty of the globe. I gave up looking for one. Then we started homeschool and we really needed a globe and I found this one! If you look closely at the globe, which is raise relief, there is a dot matrix grid over the entire surface. You tap the pen and it and gives you the information you have asked for. It came with a nice book that also works with the pen. The only con is that the way to switch the information the pen gives you (music, facts, etc.) is to touch the pen to the book. On the globe we had from the thrift store there was a key on the actual globe itself. I believe Repogle does sell a globe with it on the base but I thought it looked tacky. So the con is that you can't loose the book.

This is such a fun globe! And we are in our 30s. Looks cool and vintage then Bam! Fun globe! Ha

The globe was a birthday present for my now 8-year old. He loves geography and they had a similar one with the raised relief in his classroom. He loves it and I remember loving the one I had at his age. I'd give 5-stars but the price I paid seemed quite high. I would buy again, however, as a good educational tool.

My now 12 year old granddaughter always loved my 40 year old tan globe. I would even bring it along when I babysat her. One day out of the blue she said "I don't HAVE my OWN globe." Hinting maybe? Her mom said she didn't have room for one. (Not true) Sadly my son and EX-DIL were recently divorced. I bought this beautiful blue globe so now my granddaughter can see/use it every other weekend! :( It made me bring down my globe from on top of a bookcase and put it on our kitchen table where we sit and watch Jeopardy, lol. EVERYONE should have a globe!

This is a beautiful globe. It is true to the description. I was looking for something that was update and had the raised mountain ranges. This one does not disappoint.

Don’t waste your money on this. The globe is a piece of paper pasted to a plastic ball, which is not even smooth.

This globe is just as described. It is beautifully crafted, has all the current countries and has relief on the surface. Great purchase for my husbands birthday!
