Boosted Power and Efficiency!
I've been a car enthusiast for years, and installing the K&N Cold Air Intake System on my 2014 Chevrolet Silverado was one of the best mods I've done. Right out of the box, the quality is evident – the high-flow air filter and heat shield are built tough, and the installation was straightforward with clear instructions, taking me about an hour in my garage. The real magic happens on the road. Performance-wise, there's a noticeable increase in horsepower and torque; acceleration feels smoother and more responsive, especially when merging onto the highway or towing my boat. It's like the engine breathes easier, delivering that extra punch without any lag. And let's talk fuel mileage – I've seen a solid 2-3 MPG improvement on my daily commutes and longer trips, which adds up quickly at the pump. Paired with the throaty intake sound under throttle, it just makes driving more fun overall. If you're looking to enhance your vehicle's performance and save on gas without breaking the bank, the K&N Cold Air Intake is a no-brainer. Highly recommended for any truck or car owner!

Easy to install, love the sound
Installation: Easy to install but for the emissions hoses I did upgrade to (2) brass 5/8" barb to 1/4" NPT and added my own (4) worm gear hose clamps (get the size that goes from 0.5" to 1.25"). Really a shame that K&N is too cheap to provide these. On the 6.2L the hose coupler to the throttle body seems too large but the clamps are able to secure it in place. Install instructions are clearly written, have photos, and are easy to follow though they don't really tell you which tool to use where in the process. Function: Amazing so far. Really throaty growl from the intake when you start accelerating. I have a Borla cat-back that this intake complements well. Loud in a good way. Throttle response is noticeably better. I am not expecting massive horsepower gains but the Dyno test K&N did showed about a 14 HP gain. I recommend this if you want to improve air flow into your engine and get a nice mean sound. Worth the money to me. I got the plastic roto-molded version because the Black Hawk is slightly more restrictive material and the metal intake conducts heat vs plastic which insulates.

very noticable sound
First off, its K&N. So to me the quality is there, cause I am a K&N supporter. I have used them in the past and like their products. If you have ever installed any cold air kit, it is no harder than any other to install. Has a clean installed look. So the good is it flows more than the stock air box. It would almost have too, just by design. Also has very noticeable sound when into the throttle. Sounds good at wide open throttle.....if you like that sound. The bad news is it has a very noticeable sound...lol. If you tow or are in a hilly, mountain, area where you are into the throttle more regularly, you will be listening to it moan...…. a lot! This is just me, but it drove me crazy towing from tidewater Va. up to the western part of the state. Every long grade just got annoying. I had one on my other truck, but don't remember it being that loud inside the vehicle. So, it is cool to listen to at wide open throttle, but a long never ending moan on a long trip that is surprisingly loud in the cab is just not for me.

Happy with my purchase
So, i just installed this in A Yukon XL, 5.3L. took me an hour and a half and I am NOT a mechanic. A couple of things that hopefully help others. Step 13 shows the connection tubing with the number (that differentiates the 5.3L from the 6.3L toward the front of that rubber connector. Let me tell you, if it is in the front of the connector, good luck ever getting the filter piping to fit into that connector! Put that number toward the back (toward the throttle body) and then the piping will fit into the connector, no problem. This was an 1/2 hour issue for me, a lot of swearing, and multiple glasses of bourbon. I would say in general the directions are easy to follow but should be more specific. For those, like me, that are not as mechanically inclined, “attach with the provided pieces” is not all that helpful- I got everything put together tight and fine but was left over with two washers and two lock washers. I am sure that some of the parts I screwed in are supposed to have those, but I don’t know which ones so I am just telling myself they sent extra parts to make myself feel better. Again, anyone mechanically inclined probably knows where those are supposed to go...but I didn’t. Took it out for a test drive and I will say, great engine sound and noticeable low end torque increase. As for gas mileage, too really to tell. I know for me personally, it’s gonna hurt my mileage because that sweet sound under heavy acceleration is delightful. If you have better impulse control I would be willing to bet it will increase gas mileage.

Updated Review
2015 Silverado 5.3 4x4. Although my 0-60 time improved slightly, it feels like my normal acceleration was better with factory intake. It seems like all the gains are at the higher rpm. If you are trying to shave a couple tenths off of your times, then you will be happy. My truck feels more sluggish now until I stomp on it. It does definitely add a more aggressive sound. The product shipped fast and it took about 45 minutes to install. I can't say anything bad about this purchase, I just need to decide if I want a little gain on the high end, or more response at the mid range. UPDATE- Noticed a crack in the tube where the airflow sensor bolts in. Have removed this item from truck before dirty air can cause issues.

Works perfect with the 2015 Silverado 5.3
This thing is awesome! Works perfect! Sounds awesome! Didn't even mess with the computer. I put it on my 2015 Silverado and I think I have gained 20 horsepower. Love this thing! Sounds great with my dough exhaust

Good for improving power, not so much for fuel.
Well, it's a k&n. Good quality cold air intake. A few things I'd note tho. -Watch the youtube video outlining the install of this on the silverado, it will help, and make things go much faster and easier. -Make sure you get your M.A.S installed correctly. -save your old intake, you might not like the sound. Overall it's great. You can kinda feel a power increase, not much, but try running E85 with it.. really opens up the 5.3l. The sound added is noticible. I have a flowmaster American thunder series installed, and it ADDED sound to my exhaust. The intake noise with the exhaust sounds really compliment each other, especially under a load, it's really throaty and mean. Gas mileage.. well I can't say you're gonna save any fuel with this thing. Why? Because it sounds so freaking American you're gonna be smashing the throttle every time you get on it. Now, honestly, if you can manage to keep your foot out of it, I went from an average of 13.2- 13.8 mpg.. so, a little.. but I do drive with a 7.5" lift and 35's.. so. There is that. Final thought: Just buy it. Youre gonna spend the 260.00 on air filters in 100k miles, these you just add the cleaner every 50.. so. Essentially it pays for itself just in air cleaners, and doesn't void your factory warranty. It's worth every penny. Sounds great, built well, and does what it claims.

Added power and more aggresive
Added this to my 2018 Sierra... and I got better fuel efficiency and a more aggressive sounding engine. I install K&N filters on all my vehicles and this is the first time I installed an air intake kit. It was easy to do, and no regrets with putting this one in!

Clean look
2018 Silverado 1500 Custom Install was easy took 45mins has a nice deep rumble (super 40 exhaust no resonator) no more slow lag feeling when stepping on it as for gas mileage haven't noticed a difference. Only con is i would recommend a Aftermarket MAF sensor as the stock one isnt calibrated to allow that much air flow.
