BEST Smell Control/Most Discrete box
We live in the city and space is at a premium. We first purchased this enclosure about 4 years ago and love love love it. It is the best solution we have found for our two cats (7lbs and 15lbs) by far. Here's why: 1) Looks pretty good: Actually passes for a piece of furniture so long as the opening is turned away from clear view entering the home. In our case, matches most of our furniture. 2) Wipes clean: In this case, press board with a veneer is a blessing. It is dark and can pass, but it ISN'T real wood either. Therefore, as easy to wipe off on the exterior as your usual IKEA fare. 3) Can be easily modified to be even better: We sprayed down the entire interior with black silicone sealant to make it mess and "water" proof. Then we added a hook on the inside to hang the scoop. Now the inside can be wiped clean too and the scoop is hidden out of sight but ready to use. Makes good = GREAT. 4) BIGGEST AND MOST IMPORTANT REASON BY FAR - Secondary panel keeps the smell trapped: With the top only lid and secondary panel it really, really, really makes a giant difference in the smell. This is HUGE in a small space. I know some say this is uncomfortable for their cats, but mine got used to it immediately and seem to manage. I don't think they'd enjoy a different box with a no doubt different but basically equal issue better, and in our house the human's comfort comes first. How much of a difference this does for smell is incredible. I love this enclosure and can't be said enough - no other configuration we've tried (opens with doors like a cabinet, hole on the top, no secondary panel) has done the trick like this combination has done. In a single room space loft NO ONE can smell my litter. I recommended it to my sister too and she got the white one and feels the same. GREAT GREAT GREAT product. My husband and I routinely say this is the best purchase we have made. * Note, we also use higher quality, shredded pine (not pellet) litter that helps with the stink, but I know by what it is like opening the lid of this thing that 99.9% of the smell control is the enclosure itself. Sadly, this box broke in our last move, and now that I am getting another I am not even considering another style. I am being this same enclosure again and happy to do it. BEST value, look, clean-ability, and smell control.

Great litter box and great piece of furniture
I love this chest. I have a cat who loves to dig and kick litter right out the the entryway in a typical litter box, was always such a mess and I'd have to vacuum every single time she did her business. I have 3 boxes in my house since there are 3 floors. 2 boxes are hidden from site so I just use a large tote that I converted into a litter box by making an 8x8 hole on the long side of the box about 8 inches from the ground so my cat will turn to the side when she steps in and kicks into the walls. Works great, I rarely have to vacuum anymore. That being said, I bought this product for my bedroom because there was really nowhere to put my diy litter box "out of sight" and I wanted something to go with my decor. This sits at the foot of my bed like a regular chest would and looks great. It's the first thing anyone sees when they walk by or in the room and no one even knows it's a litter box unless they actually see my cat use it. most of the kicking she does that goes out of the inner door is caught in the vestibule area, so very little litter gets on my carpet and it's easy enough to vacuum what's inside. I also recommend the large litter pan that nearly everyone else recommended, fits nearly perfect inside. I like that I could choose which side to put the entry on. The product was easy to install and the quality is worth the price. Finally, as a precaution after some other reviews about urine soaking the box, I line my box with an unscented puppy pad and change it out every couple weeks when I replace the litter. So far I haven't noticed any staining on the puppy pads, so I don't think there's any issue with my cat missing the box but I'm going to keep doing it anyway because I want this product to last.

Looks, works well, but not the easiest to put together!
This is a great way to camouflage your cat litter box. It looks nice put together and seems to work pretty well. It won't eliminate litter being tracked out by your cat(s), but it will help minimize it and not advertise that you have a litter box in the room. The instructions are pretty good and the manufacture errs on the side of providing extra screws and connectors. I'm sure it doesn't mean there will never be a shortage, but any time I get a item to assemble and there's actually an extra screw or dowel, I know it's a manufacture that cares about the customer. The first thing you need to think about before putting this together is where will you place it. You can assemble it with either a right or left side opening, but more importantly (and the instructions don't include this) think about whether or not you want to place it up against the wall. The decorative extensions/sides to the cover are nice, but it means to open the top lid to scoop the litter, you have to place the unit at least 4 inches away from the wall. If you want to place it flush against the wall, leave off the decorative slats. I did read a couple of the reviews complaining about smell... My recommendation: the interior space for the litter box (if you want the divider) is on the smaller side. You can fit a litter box about 18" x 15". And I have two male cats who "pee high" You'll need a low sided litter box so that they can get in/out and because it's in an enclosed space, your cats will effectively assume the litter box sides go all the way to the top. I've taken the extra precaution to line the litter box section of the interior with some plastic. I can clean this out / change the plastic easily without worrying about urine seeping into the wood, both ruining the wood and letting the odor set in. This will keep the box clean and functional even as I can't keep my cats from aiming high. It does take a while to assemble and there are a couple steps that are possible for one person alone to accomplish, but better with two. A few of the pieces are pretty thin and help you realize this isn't the highest quality wood. I do laugh that it's designed to look like a bench, but the instructions say you shouldn't sit or stand on it. It's plenty sturdy to sit on occasionally, but I think you can take the instructions to mean that it's not meant to be a regular / frequently used piece of sitting furniture. It would be great if the manufacturer included a couple black plugs to put in the holes that are used for the top decorative slats in case you don't want to use them. Overall, I do recommend this as a great way to camouflage your litter box if you don't have a place in your home to otherwise hide it.

Very nice appearance, opening top is awesome.
So far love it. Cats took to it right away. We have a massive SS litter pan which barely fits but it does! We lined the sides with pee pads because we have an older male that sometimes pees out of the box due to back issues. Less tracking on the floor because they have to walk in the box first. I had to look hard to find one that opens at the top. I didn't want to have to get on on floor and pull out a pan to mix and scoop. We use pretty litter so we move it around often to keep it fresh. Was able to put a small can in corner to collect the solid waste as that is all we have to scoop. Thinking about adding a cat bed to top with velcro to make a nice nap spot. Started with the top open for a day for them to adjust then closed and they have had no issues. Hope they keep liking it as I love having the box hidden. We recently had to put a litter box downstairs because of an aging cat with bladder issues and this is a godsend to keep it hidden. Not cheap but seems pretty sturdy. Nice details and I like the feet/legs. Very easy to assemble.

Love it very unique !
I was looking for a litter box enclosure for about a month. I finally came across this one, I’m so happy I waited. I really didn’t want one with side doors, since I knew the litter would fall through the cracks. I wanted it completely enclosed. The lid opens up from the top, and I pull out the litter box, clean and vacuum. Super easy. I purchased motion sensory lights and cut a mat to the right size to fit inside. I received the product fairly quickly and was very pleased how well packaged it was. Super sturdy and well made. I did have a small chip on the lip of the furniture, I messaged the seller and they sent me a new piece. Great customer service and looks great in my house. Great litter box enclosure

Ok but expensive for the price. Make sure you're handy...
So the product looks really nice, it's definitely stylish, I'll give it that. It's so expensive for what it is (though you really aren't going to find much better for less - unless you want to make it yourself). Obviously the product isn't solid wood, I just expected it to be a little less handy man special and a little better since it costs $160. Mine arrived with pilot holes and dowel holes missing. It happens I guess... granted when I'm paying $160, I would kind of like a little more quality control. The pieces still held together. However, I thought ok, it's not a long screw I'll just screw it in by hand - not thinking that this isn't real wood or even MDF etc, and so the piece totally split. Also, putting the hinges and the safety hinges on was a pain - the hinges were fine but the safety hinges were odd and then bc it's so flimsy the regular hinge ripped right out of the hole bc they give you these itty bitty screws (and it's not real wood...). So, I grabbed a block of wood I had and some other screws to fasten it back together. If the quality was just a smidge better and if putting it together didn't irritate me, I would say this is a decent product. But it's really not great for $160.... Fits an extra large litter box which is awesome and it's a great shape and style and I love that it opens from the top vs doors in the front - keeps the dogs out and helps keep some of the litter from being kicked out too. So love the design, style, color, just wisht was made a bit more solid where the hinges and screws go.

I never thought I'd like a litter box in the living room.
--have fun putting it together-it is very easy, a very clever design. My cats love to poop in it. I used the special cat litter-cat attract by Dr Elsey- Precious Cat Cat Attract Problem Cat Training Litter, 40 pound...

Great product need a Phillips screw driver to assemble
This piece of furniture is really nice and has lots of room for a large pan cat box even with the divider in (see photo) I also use the top part to feed my cats now as it isn’t super tall and my older cats can easily jump to that height. The great: the instructions were really easy to follow and it came out beautifully. I love that it has feet and isn’t sitting directly on the floor which is what I assumed when I bought it. It’s awkward to lift by yourself but totally doable as it isn’t super heavy just large. Not so great: comes with lots of different hardware and only an Alan wrench (which I didn’t use) make sure you have some Phillips screw drivers on hand and you are golden. Overall it completely meets the needs of what I needed it to do: it looks nice, my cats are tracking less litter everywhere, and it has cut down on the smell dramatically.
