A "Must Have" for break-barrel air rifles & pistols.
Update 7/12: Watch your pricing on this. Bought my original 2 at $9.92 ea. Wanted 3 more (so I can hit the field with 75-plus rounds & of different types) and found them listed on Amazon again at over $15 each! Now that's a rip-off! Kept searching Amazon & eventually found product again at 8.99 plus $6.95 shipping (total for all 3), so I ordered another three. After a month of use (I shoot about 200-300 rounds/week), I LOVE this product. Buy it! Worth every penny. See my original review below. Original Review: Just used the two Pellet Pens I received today thru' Amazon; will be purchasing another three. The loading time saved and the loading ease & convenience provided is, to me, worth the cost (I don't care what someone makes on an item if it suits my needs: this does). The Pen is made of heavy plastic which I believe will last for years unless it is stepped on, etc. There are no springs to rust or mechanical parts to jam or break. The only worry I can see is losing the slide that seals the pen & advances the pellets. Easy solution: don't loose it. I have large fingers and I always end up dropping pellets to the ground while loading; even if found I won't use a dirtied pellet for fear of damaging the rifle barrel. The Pellet Pen is easily filled indoors & I loose nothing dropped. Once outdoors, I can load my rifle much more quickly and easily with no fumbling. The Pen holds 16 heavy weight pellets such as the Crosman 10.5 gr.Premier Domed and 19 alloy pellets such as the Gamo PBA Raptor. The lack of a pocket clip is surprising and would be a great addition to the convenience of this product. Overall: highly recommended.

I liked it so much I bought a second one
It works great for my Benjamin Trail NP Break Barrel Air Pistol, seating the pellet nicely each time. The front pellet's nose sticks out of the pen making it easy to align the pen over barrel. I also use it for my Crosman P1377, where some times the pellet does no fall in the right way, but correcting the pellet's position is a lot quicker than fishing it out of the tin and getting it in front of the bolt. You might say it doesn't save time since you have to load pellets into the loader, but loading 20 at a time goes faster than one at a time between shots, which is why I bought a 2nd one. If you don't like lead on your fingers, you can use a thin glove. I might try fining plastic forceps to see if that would work as well. Either way, you're not fiddling with pellets while you are shooting/plinking away. I probably put 80 pellets though my 1st one and 20 through 2nd one and so far did no experience any problems with pellets falling out. I did double load my break barrel 1st time I was using it but that's just me fault for not checking to see if a pellet loaded after the 1st click. The click or fairly soft so adding tension like another review suggested would not hurt. Only complaint would be the price: it's less complicated and has less material/parts than a cheap automatic pencil, but costs about 10 times more.

Holding up well since 2011
It's been years, 2011, since I purchased two of these and I'm happy to report they are still holding up well. One of the better gifts that I purchased as a surprise for my husband. You might want to look into these, but as always, read the current reviews. As I said, ours are older. They may have changed manufacturers or quality of material. Would I consider purchasing another? Most definitely.

Great piece of equipment!
These pellet pens are working out even better than I anticipated! Very handy, of course, for loading pellets in a break barrel air rifle. That's the whole point of their design. But they can also help seat the skirt of the pellet flush with the breech, an important feature. It keeps the skirt from being clipped when the breech is close by seating them flush. BUT- the coolest part is having one of these for a couple of different weights/designs of pellets when you're afield hunting. You can carry one, say, loaded with pellets that dump all or most of their FPE @ POI for, say, ranges up to 30 yards. Then another loaded with heavier pellets that can accurately hit POI at 50 or 60 yards. This is another real value of these pens. They not only make it quicker and way easier to load your break barrel, but you can also keep them neatly inside this pen in your outer pocket, even wearing gloves in the cold to load your rifle with them! And carry different weights/styles of pellets with you too boot?! Do yourself a favor and get these! Make your life easier and more enjoyable afield!

Simple and easy to use.
Very easy to use for a break barrel rifle, pellets are easy to load and it places the pellets in the barrel perfectly. Feeds one at a time and no fumbling around with loose pellets. Although its made from plastic, you can see how many pellets are in the pen. This is my second time I have purchased one of these and it's convenient to have more than one type of pellets ready to go, just switch pens for the pellet of your choice. I'll probably be buying another one because they're that quick and easy to use. I like it!

Great idea but lousy implementation
Thought I'd give this a try vs carrying a few pellets in my non-trigger hand while I'm trying to take down a rabbit. Overall, I'm not that impressed. First I can only get 18 of the Gamo pellets loaded in the pen, not sure if they are longer than others or what; but that's all that fits. Next, if anything snags the clip, pellets are quickly dumped out. Once I slipped it in front pocket of jeans and the clip caught on my belt loop or shirt as I pulled it out and next I knew I had a pocket full of pellets and rabbit got away. Found that slipping into side of back pocket works better until you sit down and then may break it. Which gets me to the cheap plastic construction - just not that durable for carrying around while hunting. For the price it would be nice if tube was made out of thin wall aluminum or steel. Would also be better if actually had a clip so could slip in shirt pocket and stay there like an ink pen! I've bent over and dumped it out onto the ground a couple of times, loosing some pellets this way as well. I've also found it inconvenient having to rotate the pen around so I can get my finger/thumb onto the clip to slide a pellet out. I'd like to grab it regardless of rotation and get a pellet loaded. Seems like I have to have it just so to load a pellet. Wasting time reloading means the bunny gets away or it's suffering until I close in for a clean head shot. Best I can say for it is it's better than holding pellets in my hand or rattling in the tin can. I'm going to keep my eyes open for a better product and toss this out soon as I find it.

worth it yes
I like it but I'm just using it to drop one pellet in my hand at a time. still better the having to open the tin can and fish out a pellet and stare at it to see it to see if its upside down
