Beautiful black sand! I needed a small patch of sand for my assassin snails to burrow into. This is perfect. Almost no dust when I rinsed it. You could probably add it straight to the tank from the bag if you have good filtration, but I'd still advise a quick rinse just to be sure.

Settles fast and does not cloud water
Amazing sand option! Very light, settles fast. Does not cloud the tank. I also purchased another bag in another color and plan to mix together. Looks great even with a short bed height.

Love it!
I was very happy with this product. I only used 3 bags for my 30 gallon tank, and it looks great! It really didn't cause that much of a mess like I had expected. Only a few granules floated to the top after adding water which were easily removed with a net. It also holds my fake plants in place very well.

Better stuff out there
I like the size. The problem is that even after soaking, there are several pieces that float. If you hit them, they usually sink. But I am using this with light colored sand as well. So the floating black sand would sink and get on the light colored sand. Disappointed in this.
