Recommend for people who know how to use this track ball

Took me a while to decide to opt for such a different style of mouse but it’s made a big difference not only to my personal comfort when working for long hours, but also to my work flow, and was surprisingly easy to get used to.

Although I returned it.. But it's very good if someone has no issue with size...

Great mouse, especially for my applications (sound engineer and producer). It's no wonder this is the industry standard mouse in so many studios.

After many positive reviews, I decided to try the SlimBlade, despite a few of the negative comments regarding the buttons. Please note, the comments on how mediocre this trackball is ARE the accurate reviews. While the device is nice enough, especially the ball itself, I don't think it's worth the high price being charged. The unit itself is rather lightweight and doesn't sit as solidly on the desk as one would expect from a premium piece of equipment. The mouse buttons are cheap plastic, weak, flimsy, tabs and switches that vary between, "did it actually press?" or "am I gonna break it if I press a little harder?" I really like the weight of the trackball, and the scrolling feature (rotating the ball itself) seems to be a love/hate thing...I'm one who loves it. There is so much about the mouse that I want to like and the trackball, scrolling and unit height are those things. That being said, the premium price you pay for the unit, versus the actually quality of the unit that you get are too divergent IMO. Considering replacing this unit for the expert, but that seems to have its issues as well. The quest for a good trackball continues...

Came on time, it was as they described it. However it’s not comfortable at all. Got pain in my wrist.

Fits the hand well. Easy to set up. I have been using a well known marble mouse for years, but it appears to be obsolete now. Any on the secondary market are horrendously overpriced, so finding this as a replacement is great.

I've been using Kensington mice ever since their early entrance into the market. They never failed me then and they are still #1. This track ball is "wireless". I had a wired Kensington mouse, but got fed up with the wire getting in my way at a very busy work station. It is battery driven and you will know when it's drained by the fact that the mouse pointer becomes lazy and won't go as fast as it should or you have trouble putting the pointer on any specific place on your screen. As far as I'm concerned, you'd be tragically missing out on possibly the best mouse ever made. And I stand behind it!

Desde que lo uso ya no se me cansa la muñeca, a pesar de que lo utilizo unas seis horas al día. He ganado en productividad porque, gracias a su gran bola, puedo situar el cursor exactamente donde quiero a gran velocidad. Los cuatro pulsadores de que dispone son grandes, sensibles y cómodos para usar. Aunque puede configurarse para que la pulsación conjunta de dos botones adyacentes sea equivalente a otro botón, esto no me resulta práctico porque es difícil hacer la pulsación simultánea.

Ich habe den Trackball im August vergangenen Jahres gekauft und nutze ihn seitdem sechs Tage in der Woche auf der Arbeit (heute seit etwa 7 Monate). Verarbeitung und Qualitaet Die Verarbeitung insgesamt ist fuer den Preis recht gut. Der Trackball als ganzes verrutscht nicht (normaler Buerotisch, die Gummi-Fuesschen unter dem Trackball wische ich etwa alle 2 Monate einmal ab), der Ball laeuft in der Regel sehr weich und glatt (Reinigung siehe unten). Die Maustasten klicken ohne Probleme, egal ob man sie vorne oder hinten drueckt. Das Scrollrad laeuft leicht und etwas locker. Von einem teuren Produkt wuerde ich hier ein geschmeidigeres Gefuehl erwarten. Da die Funktion aber einwandfrei ist, ziehe ich hier fuer ein derart guenstiges Geraet keinen Punkt ab. Der Ball selbst ist glatt und angenehm zu fuehren, auch mit trockenen Fingern rutsche ich nicht ab. Bedienung Die Bedienung funktioniert fuer mein Empfinden nach etwas Eingewoehnung sehr gut. Mit dem Daumen bediene ich den Linksklick Zeige-, Mittel- und teils Ringfinger bewegen den Ball, wodurch er sich sehr praezise steuern laesst, der Ringfinger scrollt und der kleine Finger bedient den Rechtsklick. Da sich die Hand / das Geraet selbst nicht bewegen, benoetigt man sehr wenig Platz. Ich arbeite oft ueber zwei Monitore und bewege die Maus ueber die volle Breite, was so sehr viel leichter und angenehmer ist, als mit einer herkoemmlichen Maus. Fuer Zwecke im normalem Windows-Betrieb (Office, Surfen, Bildbearbeitung, etc.) benutze ich den Trackball sehr gerne. Fuer Videospiele finde ich eine traditionelle Maus als intuitivere Verlaengerung des Armes besser geeignet. Software Die mitgelieferte Software ist eine nuetzliche Ergaenzung. Geschwindigkeit und Richtung des Scrollens habe ich angepasst. Ausserdem nutze ich regelmaessig die Funktion den Mauszeiger per einstellbarem Hotkey auf der Tastatur entweder langsamer und damit praeziser zu bewegen, sowie die Bewegungsrichtung in der Horizontalen oder Vertikalen zu fixieren, sodass man senkrechte und waagerechte Bewegungen ohne Probleme vollfuehren kann. Diese Funktionen nutze ich ueberwiegend in der Bild- und Grafikbearbeitung. Einschraenkungen Der Trackball hat nur zwei Tasten. Man kann diese ueber die Software mit gewuenschten Funktionen belegen, auf Links- und Rechtsklick laesst sich aber in der Regel natuerlich schwer verzichten. Eine dritte Taste laesst sich lediglich als Klick mit beiden Maustasten gleichzeitig simulieren und ueber die Software frei belegen. Fazit Ein gutes Produkt um das Prinzip des Trackballs auszutesten. Alle benoetigten Grundfunktionen werden geliefert, inklusive des Scrollrades, was bei vielen anderen guenstigen Trackballs leider nicht der Fall ist. Fuer Interessierte oder Trackball-Benutzer mit nur grundlegenden Anforderungen und begrenztem Budget ist dieses Geraet eine sehr empfehlenswerte Wahl.

WOW now i have an issue !! ?? brought this trackball, because with my degenerative desease I was at times not able to use my mouse. I was surprised at just how far they have moved forwards, the last trackball I brought was in the 90s, So I was very surprised at its senticy of movement, which I am now trying to get used to. I now have this trakball & my mouse plugged in and switch to what ever I can use the easiest. Deffo recomend, but it is NOT a quick fix, it will take time n patience to get the trackball adjusted to your needs. Stick with it and you wont be dissappointed. I opted `for the usb version of this track ball, just becase the items i use already my battery charger is struggling to cope.
