An absolute lifesaver to keep dementia patients in their chair and from falling/getting hurt. They can squirm out so never leave them unattended. If you need less motility you will need a harness style. This helped us keep her in bed and in a recliner.

This belt has saved me so much pain. My father has sever case of Alzheimer’s. He gets up 4-5 times a night and walks around. One time he fell and got hurt. After that I bought this belt and a bed alarm from Lunderg. This belt is long enough to wrap around the bed and secure him so he doesn’t get off in the night time. He tried to beat the belt but alarm alerted me and I was able to prevent a disaster. Very easy to snap in and out. Very strong belt and still flexible enough that he can toss and turn. No more sleepless nights for me. It’s a big help.

Purchased before hospice said they do not allow restraints so sent it back. Was a quality product and think it would have worked well for nighttime wandering for dementia patient.

Works with recliners amazingly but in beds it doesn’t work they can get out of it

This item was purchased at the advice of a physician (not this specific product, but any protective belt) for a recliner chair. The person is aged with dementia/Alzheimer’s and tends to fall when she attempts to walk. She’s elderly, but not as weak as some her age. She managed to pull herself forward multiple times, which loosened the belt and she then was able to free herself by lifting it over her head. The black strap did not stay tight and secure in the locking device. The lock stayed in place but the straps continued to slide, until it was open enough to allow her to get out of it. This belt will work for some, but if purchasing for someone with still a bit of upper body strength and the desire not to have it on, they can remove themselves from the belt.

I purchased this for my 97 year old grandmother who would always try to get up at night and fall. This product is so great that I bought 2 so I could switch then out and wash them. They held up very well and she never complained once about it being uncomfortable. We also used it on the couch and her wheelchair as she was one who would try to get up in a split second if you weren't looking, and then she would fall. It works great! Even her nurse had a good comment about it.
