Synthetic. Very smooth. Also has minimal seems. Simply not a real baseball. Would not recommend for any but very young kids.

They are regulation size baseball's good for practice.

Do autographs hold up well with the synthetic cover?

I don’t see how these baseballs won’t hold an autograph well...especially with a sharpie
