Does 0.4mm in the specs mean 4 millimeters thick? 0.4 millimeters would be very very thin (i.e. less than half a millimeter).

Hello. The 0.4mm is not representative of the size of the o-rings, but rather the reduction in key-stroke travel with these installed. You are correct, the o-rings are thicker than 0.4mm :-). They are actually about 1.75mm thick.

So do you put these on the switch or the keycaps?

you put this on the keycap, on the post that is attached to the switch. As it descends into the switch it hits the switch face. Slightly shortens the travels and dampens the impact.

Does it come with a cap remover?

Hello, this kit does not include a cap remover. Most keyboard keys can be easily removed from the board with anything flat/thin enough to get under the keys and lift.

Will these work with gateron switches?

These should work with any removible mechanical key caps because they are applied to the stem of the key cap, not any part of the switch itself. There are great tutorial videos online if you Google how to apply o rings to key caps. Best of luck!
