It’s mainly for shine. I do believe it is sulfate free.

Is it ok to use on oily hair?

This product is not oily. However, it won’t give volume. It will give you a sleek/straight look. I would not use it if my hair is oily.

I did not see any reference to sulfates on the ingredient list. You can read the ingredient list by going to the Amazon page for this product. Click on the picture of the back of the bottle, and zoom in to the ingredient list near the bottom of the bottle. I absolutely love this product and have noted only positives, no negatives, to my hair quality since I started using it a year ago.

Since I started using the Brazilian Blowout product line, my hair has never been healthier or longer. This is quite remarkable, given that I've been over-processing my hair for years. I've been a fan of Olaplex and other similar products for years, but I must say that the Brazilian Blowout line is just as good, if not better, and more cost-effective. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with the Brazilian Blowout line and the results it has given me. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to improve the health and length of their hair.

Love this blow dry oil. It was a bit more thick than I expected. So make sure you only take a tiny drop and spread it along your damp hair (not dry hair). Amazing smell too. Love love love it.
