Will this work for broken stove pipe flange on top of a cast iron box stove it was dropped in shipping and broke out the top flange the pipe attaches?

No I think not , but if it’s just laying there in place and is cracked loose from the main flange .This would seal the crack but would add little support it’s to brittle.

Once i cut the tip end and start using it, how can i store it for later use? is that even possible? how different to other silicone caulking tubes?

Once opened, you can seal the tip with plastic wrap to help extend the life for up to a couple of weeks - this is not a product that is designed to be held on to for a while after opening, it will begin to cure as soon as it is exposed to air.

You can use Rutland Products Castable Refractory Cement to make repairs to the cracks, once allowed to dry for 24 hours, this Castable Refractory Cement can be exposed to temperatures up to 2,200-degrees F.
