These little water fin socks are great!
After reading reviews about a number of other water fin socks, I ended up purchasing a pair of Seavengers for me and a pair for my husband for a trip to the Galapagos and I'm glad I did. I packed them thinking we would use them when we snorkeled and then forgot about them. We had our Keen shoes on for the first water landing and then had to march along the shoreline in the sand. Well, the sand came in through the gaps in our shoes and proceeded to rub our feet raw as we walked - not good. That night my husband remembered the water fin socks and mentioned them. The next time out we put the socks on before we put the Keens on and the problem with sand and dirt rubbing our feet was solved! These little babies while not waterproof, are thick enough to offer a nice bit of cushion and protection from sand and dirt. They also come up high enough on your heels to keep out the sand or what have you, as well as prevent your shoes from rubbing that area. Other people who were grappling with sand (or similar socks that were lower on the heel than ours), were stopping to ask us what kind they were and where we got them. I was a little worried about the sizing, but I read what other reviewers had said, along with Seavenger's sizing parameters. For mine, I ordered the women's small. For reference, I usually wear 8.5 medium shoes. My feet are slim and somewhat bony and the smalls just fit for length. They feel pretty snug when you first put them on, but they loosen a bit when they get wet. I think they have to be snug to stay in snorkeling fins if you use them for that (I'm not much of a snorkeler, so I can't speak to how that would have worked, since I hugged the shoreline during the snorkel outing). My husband's water fin socks are size medium. He usually wears size 8.5 average width shoes and his feet are not fat or thin. His socks also fit snugly with no room to spare. These water fin socks seem pretty durable to me and they rinsed out easily and dried quickly. They aren't designed for walking on rocks or rough areas, but with proper care should last a long time for use with snorkeling fins, walking short distances on a beach or for use as we used them, inside of trail type shoes such as Keens.

A warm hug for my feet! I needed these and didn't know it!
*UPDATE* I should have bought one size smaller, at least. They may have stretched out slightly, but moreover, once it gets wet, it wants to slip off easily. Too easily. And one stitch is coming undone as a thread is hanging out that’s nearly the length of my foot. I’ve worn them six or seven times so far. The underside is starting to get thin and wear through. I can’t imagine that they will work another six times. Still, so much better to wak with these on than to not have them. Without these socks on, you’d be forced to walk on rocks between the beach and your vehicle. *ORIGINAL* Oh, so cozy and warm! I want to wear them everywhere! I originally bought these as I wanted another pair of reef walkers. Then I realized that these are not exactly what I was originally looking for. As it turns out, I so needed these and I didn't even know it! I put them on to try them out and they fit perfectly, and feel so incredible. I liked that the bottom is covered with a rubber type of material with grips to help prevent slipping. The sock is thin, which is great. It slipped on and fit nice and snug (at least for me). The reef walkers that I do have are wearing out. But, the thing about them is that when you are using them, they get filled up with sand, like in a big way. That is uncomfortable and can cause pain if you get a little rock in there. At night, the reef walkers won't necessarily dry out, and they still have (wet) sand in them the next day, when I want to go snorkeling again. The reef walkers have a liner on the bottom that keeps the sand stuck inside, and also keeps them wet. I can better wash out the socks and keep the sand out of them as they do not have a liner (thankfully). The dive socks dry out easier and quicker than the reef walkers. Now, I am able to slip on my dive socks first before putting on the uncomfortable reef walkers. I haven't tried putting them on before putting on my swim fins, as my swim fins fit perfectly already, so there is no need. However, it is nice to have them on hand in case I have a friend who has a bit smaller feet. They can slip on my dive socks before putting on my extra set of fins that may otherwise be too big for them to use.

Great for waterpark use
I wear a woman's size 11 wide in most shoes and so I purchased both the L and XL. I wanted to protect my feet at our upcoming water park trip. I ended up wearing both sizes since we went to two different water parks. First, I wore the XL. It fit fine and did not fall off my foot in the water. However, it did carry along a small balloon of water by my toes when I walked between water areas on the concrete. I had to take them off periodically to let my feet dry out and lose the "dead fish" look they were acquiring. Also, after spending all day at the park with numerous treks on concrete between areas there were several small holes on the bottom. I do not fault the product, as I understand it is primarily for sandy areas, but wanted to state this for the review. I thought I was over the horror of the water park and threw the XL pair away. But the sequel appeared due to parental guilt (end of summer = last ditch effort to have fun) and we went to another park. I wore the L this time and was glad to have it due to the increased hot concrete areas between water attractions. The L fit fine, too, and did not carry around quite so much water in the toes when walking on dry land. Again, I needed to take them off to dry my feet when I could and they also developed small holes. The holes were smaller this time, however: I don't know why. Other water park goes standing in line on the hot concrete thought these water socks were a great idea. I would buy this product again whenever I plan on walking around at water parks/pools. Please note that some water parks have rules considering what you can and cannot wear on waterslides versus their pools.

I use these to ensure a snug fit for my swimming fins. The fins tend to rub on my feet, but not if I wear these socks. Excellent solution to an annoying problem for me.

Perfect fit, and love wearing them with my fins even on a hot day as it makes your feet feel so much more comfortable in your fins while snorkeling. Highly recommend!!!
