So far this generator has worked great when I needed it. Its VIery powerful, the power comes with noise but the fact that you have this power push button start is very nice too.

Westinghouse generator was shipped promptly and arrived on schedule. The Packaging was excellent and it arrived undamaged, or even blemished. Minor and Very simple assembly, and prep work. I have not run this generator yet (need to prep some gas with fixer solution) but will add to this review as I exercise the unit. Very happy with it so far.

Shipment was fast. Only reason for a 4 star was that unfortunately, it was shipped on its side, so the oil from testing that was in it during shipment, ran into the exhaust and had to burn off. This made a ton of smoke the first time we cranked it. It could have been shipped differently or added to the instructions. Otherwise, the generator was exactly as expected. I expected it to be loud and it was. If you have it on low idle the sound is better, but don't expect to be able to have a conversation next to it while it is running. The features I like are the key fob, for if you need to shut it off and turn it on at different intervals. Also, the low idle feature if not running full blast. It was easy to put together and looks very nice. Overall, I think the generator is a great quality for the price paid per watts.

She is a beast! Big, heavy & well constructed. Took a while to get it out of the shipping materials because I did it alone. Much easier with 2 people. Installed the oil, connected the battery and she started. First oil change at about 10 hours. Will do the second at 25 hours & then follow the schedule. Wish it wasn’t so noisy - def every bit of the rated 74db. Runs the entire house including 2 heat pumps 2 Ton & 6 ton (with soft starts). Electric clothes dryer also works but needs to be scheduled as to not run with the 6 ton heat pump. Also have to shut off the hot tub when on generator power. Love this thing! With the 14-50 receptacle was farther away from the wheel.

So right out of the box. Followed all the procedures and started the generator. It started right up, but on restart the starter didn't engage and ground on the flywheel. Shut it off and tried the start sequence again. Generator started. Problem is every few starts same problem grinding starter. Two days later the starter would not turn over the motor. Well, I contacted Westinghouse by email about the issue. They got back in 24 hours and asked if I was comfortable replacing the starter, I said I was, so they sent me out a starter which I received in about 4 days. I replaced the starter and tried the start sequence; this was met with a loud exhaust explosion and smoke. I shut off the generator and checked the liquid that blew out and found it to smell like gasoline. That was it for that night. The next day I checked the oil and found fuel smell in oil. I changed the oil and started the generator. Clouds and clouds of smoke for a good 3 to 4 minutes then it cleared up. Let the generator run as per break in procedure. All starts that day were fine. The next day starter grinding again about 1 in four starts no smoke and no fuel smell in oil. Well today June 27, 2022, the motor would not turn over again. So, I am deducing a hydro lock of the cylinders (Vtwin). I think the problem is the float on the carburetor as it would explain all symptoms. Unreliable for emergency use. Exploring options for repair or replacement at this time. You have been warned.

The generator is packaged well for shipment. It arrived without damage. Getting the unit off the pallet was a little challenge, but I'm 70 and did this by myself. A little thought before action was all that was needed and I got it off the pallet with wheels attached with little effort. We purchased the Wgen 12000 as a whole-house stand-by generator. It was pressed into service 1 month after we received it. It started immediately on the first attempt and performed flawlessly. Great product. This is my only experience with a generator, so I rated it's noise and maneuverability accordingly.

Easy to start and power things once set up and broken in. May follow-up once reall in use. As for the first experience, be sure to get the battery cable attached before you take the whole generator off the palette and attach the wheel. The only way to get the nut and bolt loose for the negative cable was by removing the battery hold-down strap and pulling it out for access. We already had the wheel on and it off the pallet so we had to support it with bricks to take off the wheel. Also 400lbs for two people to lift up and out of the pallet is challenging so instead of destroying our backs, we used auto ramps placed under the wheels and hammered out the high parts of plywood keeping the generator in place so we could pull the pallet out from under it then carefully wheel it down off the ramps onto the ground.

Delighted about the 12000 generator. Can't comment on operation yet as have not run it but plan to build a hush house with sand dampening in the walls and a fan that vents the heat while running. Shipper in our area won't deliver until they have a full truck to make it worth their while.... my suspicion. Endless scroll of excuses why they failed to deliver on agreed to time, or any of the following days. CEVA. Call and get permission to pick it up with a truck and have a ramp to unload. Its beautiful. Excited to have it for the house power outages. Amazon can benefit to use another shipper for such items. Suspect CEVA is perfect for large volume orders, not home generators outside their daily range. You have been warned.
