Little Black Classics Box Set

Was finding it impossible to get the whole series individually from bookstores, so this set is awesome, and less than half the price of buying them individually

The books came (from India) in a timely manner and undamaged. All the volumes were there. The selection of readings is wonderfully varied, from Western classics to Eastern dynastic poetry. The selected excerpts are well chosen not only to represent the author but also as worthy readings in their own right. Penguin translations are always first-rate, and these volumes are no exception. If you are looking for an introduction to basic literacy, this is a good start.

Great price. Was after this box set but did not want to fork out the £180.00 on Waterstones got this cheap and all titles included. Very happy with the purchase looks lovely on my shelf with my other classics. Only minor default is the spines don’t match up exactly with the penguin logo but this is a manufacturing thing with all the box sets.

I started looking for one book and bought the whole box set instead. And I have to say that I am just delighted at the mere sight of this wonderful collection of 80 different types of works of 80 well-known authors. I was a little skeptical because the reviews on Amazon.com, but i must that, my experience has been entirely different. 1. I received properly packed, not-at-all torn from any side box set. 2. The quality of books is great. The size, as apparent from the dimension of independent books, is a little smaller, as justified by the name 'little black classic', than that of the usual Penguin Classics. 3. All books are for keeps. This is one of my best purchases ever. Even though some titles may not interest me right now, I am still looking forward to exploring each one of them, as rest assured, these are all acclaimed works and loved by a variety of people across the world. So, I've attached a few screenshots that give you an idea about 1. How it looks 2. What are the contents 3. The size as compared to a normal Penguin Classic (E.g. Three Men in a Boat. It goes without saying that this book is not a part of the box set and is only used for comparison)
