Finally! Dimmable LED bulbs that actually work!
This is a review for the BR20. I just moved into a house with a track light with LED bulbs in the living room. They are on a dimmer. The previous owners had put a bunch of mismatched bulbs that were annoying me to no end. I tried replacing them with several different types and brands of bulbs, most of which I bought from Home Depot, but none of them worked. They all either flickered or did really strange things like turn on with a very dim glow even when the switch was off. I experimented with a bunch of different combinations and was only able to get them to "work" with a bunch of mismatched bulbs. I now know why the previous owners had a mish-mash of mismatched bulbs. I did a lot of reading and researching and learned that LED bulbs can be extremely finicky especially when they are used in circuits with several bulbs on the same circuit, and even worse when that circuit is on a dimmer. After some research, these seemed to be the most promising so even though they are a little expensive I decided to give them a try. I got them yesterday, installed them this morning, and I a thrilled to report that they work perfectly. I now have all the bulbs matching, they don't flicker, they don't glow when the circuit is off, they dim perfectly, basically they work exactly as they're supposed to. The warm white is also perfect for a living room. The track light has six of them so they can get very bright if needed but with the warm white color they do not get uncomfortable.

Love the WarmGlow feature of these bulbs
These bulbs have the wonderful Philips WarmGlow feature, where the color temperature gets warmer as you dim them. What’s the benefit of this? They almost perfectly mimic incandescent light bulbs. I had originally purchased Sunco bulbs instead of these. They were fine at full brightness, but they didn’t have the WarmGlow feature, but worse, they buzzed when dimmed. The Philips bulbs do not hum at all, even when dimmed.

Good light bulb
Nice light bulb. It has a dimmer on it so it doesn't get bright right away. It is like am ambient lighting. I use it in my kitchen which has recessed lighting. It is not real bright but just bright enough. I would recommend this light bulb; great price too.

Dimmable recessed lights
slight delay when turning lights on, not happening with previous identical purchase

Warm glow for dim uses makes all the difference
These bulbs are so much better than all the others if you want to use them dimmed. Other bulbs give off a flat white light when dimmed. The warm dim of these bulbs makes all the difference. I won't buy any other LED bulb for rooms where I use a dimmer. They dim to very low brightness, excellent color, and without flickering.

Excellent LED bulbs if you enjoy warm light
I installed 8 of these throughout my house, and they work great. They have a pleasing warm glow that is comparable to incandescent lights. I was worried that switching to LED would ruin the warmth of light in my house, but there was no issue. I really like these bulbs. Pros: • Warm color • Dimmable • Very quiet (see note below) Cons: • At the lowest dimming level, these are somewhat brighter than incandescent. This isn't a deal breaker for me, but you may notice this if you dim your lights super low. Regarding noise, almost all of the lights in my house produce a faint buzzing noise when they are dimmed. This happens for both incandescent and LED bulbs. It's not too noticeable, but I always pay attention to it when buying new bulbs, because I don't want to make the problem worse. I found that these new Philips LED bulbs are actually more quiet than incandescent, so that was nice. However, one of the new bulbs make a buzzing noise that was louder than most. I installed that one in a laundry room where I didn't really care about the sound.

Bait and Switch. Not 9 Watt but 7.2. Also get very hot.
The bulbs received are not what is being advertised. These bulbs also get very hot just like the incandescent bulbs. I bought these thinking they would not get hot and keep the room cooler but NO, they get very hot.

Hurry up and expand this product line, Philips!
The warm glow dimming feature is fabulous. Seriously lovely color temperature at both full power and dimmed. I am remodeling and these are the bulbs I want. Unfortunately, the Warm Glow line is limited. The R20 bulbs only come in 45 watt equivalent. That's fine for the living room, but I need more than 450 lumens per bulb in the kitchen. The 60 watt equivalent A19 bulbs (800 lumens) will give me plenty light, but because they are "A" series bulbs, I'd be lighting the inside of the can and the back of the baffle in my 4" recessed lights. I would also looove a PAR 20 on a gimbal with Warm Glow. I am using a Commercial Electric T41 to highlight the fireplace, but the color temperature is slightly higher than the Philips Warm Glow bulbs, and the temperature doesn't lower as I dim the bulbs. BTW, the Philips corporate site is difficult to navigate, so don't bother checking there for a list of the available Warm Glow bulbs. Glossary: *"A" series bulbs: traditional "light bulb" shaped bulbs *"R" bulbs: trumpet shaped bulbs that reflect or point the light in a direction. (Since LED's are intrinsically directional, I think that the "R" for reflector is technically vestigial) *"PAR" bulbs: bulbs with a parabolic reflector. These are the silver-y cone shaped bulbs that are often used in recessed and track lighting. Traditional PAR bulbs are halogen. The parabolic reflector focuses the light more precisely than a simple reflector. *Gimbal: swiveling trim that allows you to point a recessed light in a certain direction. *19, 20, etc: diameter of the bulb at its widest point. The bulbs are measured in units of 1/8 inch. To convert the bulb size to inches, divide the size by eight. *Color temperature: "warmth" of the light. The lower the temperature, the warmer the light, which seems backwards until you remember that a blue flame is hotter than a yellow or orange flame. Color temperature is measured in Kelvins. *Lumens: units of light produced. The "wattage equivalent" on a LED is a vestige of the old filament light bulbs. (Watts being the units of electricity that the bulb consumed.) To effectively compare LED bulbs, you should compare the lumens produced. A 60 watt equivalent bulb produces almost twice the lumens as a 40 watt equivalent, even though 60 is only 1-1/2 times as many watts.

One bulb out of a multiple order was dead on arrival. Longevity of the rest is obviously as yet undeterminable. Major time consuming delays and difficulties trying to register purchase with Philips for warranty purposes.
