Can you use these on metal frames?

Both ends need to be screwed in - both to the windo and the window casing. If you are able to screw it into the metal, then yes you can use them on metal frames. I wouldn't suggest it unless you are very handy and have the right tools. Could damage the window.

Great!

Absolutely ideal for outward opening windows!! Installed as the top lock on my large old window, as there was only a bottom lock installed and caused the window to open outwards in a lopsided fashion. Great buy!

Will not work for windows with interior screen.

Otherwise a very cool product to prevent strong winds from ripping your casement window off it's hinges. A longer wire cable may be better.

Not For Use With a Screen

I haven't used the product as I didn't quite realize this cannot be used if the window has a screen... heads up on that detail!

A little large but very easy. Ideal for PVC windows you don't want to screw into with other methods

We have alluminium windows in rebated frames, so I have not installed this as I didn't want to have to cut into our casings. However I did test this device and it worked as expected. I would recommend it if your frames are 1.25 inches or more in thickness.
