DEWALT 20V MAX Planer, 30,000 Cuts Per Minute, 2 mm Cut Depth, Brushless Motor, Bare Tool Only (DCP580B)

As with all my cordless Dewalt tools, this is definite time saver. The depth of cut adjustment has a “clicking” stop for every 8th of an inch of adjustment. The handle appears to be to high or oriented to far forward but with a battery attached it balances very well. The motor supply’s more than enough cutting power for any job you may need to tackle.

Actually bought this for small furniture fixes in my home studio so I wouldn’t drag boards to the shared workshop. It planes pine and poplar way faster than i thought and the surface comes out pretty clean. Battery drains quicker on hardwood though, so for long sessions I keep a second pack charged.

This keeps my small home studio running smoother. I bought it for flattening maple panels for client desks. The brushless motor feels strong and I like how I just click the depth knob to take light 1 mm passes. The chip ejection to one side saves me from sweeping the whole room.

I can't believe I didn't buy this sooner - great tool for what it does.

I bought this DeWalt brushless planer back in June 2020 and I’ve loved using it. It’s great for flattening high spots and doing normal planing work, and the brushless motor keeps it smooth and consistent. For a cordless planer, it has plenty of power and has held up well over the years. The only thing to keep in mind is battery life. If you’re doing heavy planing, it will chew through 2–4Ah batteries pretty quickly. For lighter passes or quick cleanup, though, the battery lasts long enough and the tool performs really well. Overall, it’s a solid planer for anyone already in the DeWalt 20V ecosystem. Reliable, easy to control, and great for woodworking projects.

Throws a lot of shavings really fast so I would recommend getting a collector bag if you are trying to keep your area somewhat clean. I got a mostly used spool of thread in my box with the tool, Im not sure what that is for, maybe it was not supposed to be in the box. I bought the tool to level down the tops of some vertical 6x6 posts. Much easier work than trying to sand them down. tool works great. I would recommend.

Another Dewalt tool to love. The incremental choices for cutting depth is outstanding. Very easy to use.

I grabbed this for my small home office workshop so i could clean up the edges on a built‑in desk project. The battery swaps right over from my other DEWALT tools, which keeps things simple 👍. I just dial the depth and it chews through pine and plywood fast. Nice weight, doesn’t wear out my wrists.

Estoy haciendo trabajos de carpintería y en lo que llevo adquirí herramienta pero los cables me estorbaban y aveces por lo mismo hacia mal el trabajo, dewalt me gustó y ahora con los equipos a batería super, cero cables, si no hay conexión cerca no hay problema, si se va la luz puedes seguir trabajando y con otras baterías pues terminas tu jornada, el cepillo es excelente me acomido mas que el bosh alambrico además de que hace menos ruido, el acerrin sale y no es tan volátil como en los otros, sin bolsa de acumulación se puede usar. Excelente Dewalt nuevamente

Máquina excelente, mesmo usando uma bateria de 5 amper e leve para manusear, silenciosa, potente e o mais legal é que quando desliga o motor tem freio para parada rápida, outro ponto muito importante dela é a saída para aspiração que já vem na carcaça da máquina, podem comprar tranquilamente, pois o único arrependimento que vc vai ter é de não ter comprado ela antes, rsrs.

I love this piece of kit. Works well and with the add on filter, does the job well without a mess.
