Small but mighty!!
Bought it for a trip to France! I didn't use it as a carry-on, because it's definitely a little bit too small (I definitely tried! I'm sure it's possible if you're not paranoid and extra like me) but it was the perfect daypack. I wanted something slim and sleek enough so I didn't look super dorky, especially when carrying it as a crossbody. Clips and zippers are super easy, straps held up great, though I will caution everyone that they're gonna be awkward convertible backpack straps, so it's always a struggle. But that's a given with bags like these. I got pretty good at switching around the configuration after two weeks. It fits a TON, surprisingly! I was able to cram an umbrella, 16oz Swell bottle, sunglasses, personal items, a snack, my journal, and still cram in some random souvenirs and stuff I picked up! Totally recommend this little gem. Super secure, sleek, and it's exactly what anyone could need. It really helped me not overpack for walking around cities all day- do you really need a 35L Jansport for that? I still use it frequently back and forth on my bike to work and whatnot. Definitely recommend!!! Especially for the price.

A Very Good Bag
UPDATED REVIEW: This turned out to be a super duper purse. The size was perfect for a day trip in an attraction where they are very strict about the size of bag you bring inside. To my surprise, I was actually able to carry a LOT more than I expected. As a result, I used this bag for the rest of our 2 wk. trip. I loved that I could easily switch from backpack to sling- not perfectly but it worked out very well as we were often rushing. My only gripe is that the small water bottle fell out easily when not in the upright position. So, I kept it inside the bag instead. Again, surprisingly, it fit well! I would buy this again if I needed it. PREVIOUS REVIEW: This is a light bag, exactly the size I needed (11"x8"x3"). So far, it fits my 11" iPad inside, and my iPhone in the outer pocket. Enough room for my passport, cc's, etc., battery pack, small cosmetic/health pack, tiny umbrella, and small water bottle in the zip pocket. It appears to be well made (soon to be tested on an upcoming trip though). Easy to convert into backpack use: slip the one end of the shoulder strap through the flat strap on the back of the bag and attach the buckles to the bottom D-rings. Then, adjust the straps according to your preference. Just an inch more in width, and a couple of extra zip pockets, e.g., the outer backside, and maybe, one or two more inside, this would be a 5-star product.

Great for Travel Security
I never travel with backpacks. I don’t like the stress of having things on my back that pickpockets can get into (the good ones can get into your bags and pockets even when they are visible to you). I am traveling “hands free” with this backpack with peace of mind—straps are cutproof, material is slash proof, exterior zippers have locking tabs, interior RFID pocket. This is small and lightweight. Bonus because it is flat—it can be used as a backrest on the plane and train. Best of all, it converts from a backpack to a crossbody bag. The only reason I gave it a 4, instead of 5, is that the zippers don’t pull as smoothly as they could. I would have sent it back for a replacement, but needed it right away for a trip. It is working out just fine, though I would have wanted smoother zippers.

great customer service from Travelon
Used this for an overseas trip. Nice bag--holds a good amount so we could use it as a diaper bag for a day outing or airplane personal item for an overseas flight. Used it mostly as a crossbody, but could pretty easily be used as a small backpack. Love the locking zippers and detachable main strap. Very secure for travel, in crowds, etc. Tiny flashlight inside wasn't working well. Called Travelon and they immediately put a replacement in the mail. Great customer service. Will continue using Travelon bags on trips and outings.

Smaller than expected
It has Travelon quality and thus well made. The overall size is smaller than I expected. The arrangement for the strap to be used as a backpack is uncomfortable to wear, especially if you have the bag full. It does not have enough pockets and slots on the inside--none in the biggest part of the bag and only a couple in the front section. The top zipper is awkward and hard to open.

Complete Fail, Venice Italy
The amazing sleight of hand artists in Venice Italy easily defeated this cross body bag. My wallet with AirTag was in the center zippered RFID pocket. All latches secured. Gelato in hand, I was concentrating on “no drips”. With AirTag monitoring I know wallet was gone within 20 steps of the gelato store. I bet they practice on these traveler oriented brands. Wonder if they would have succeeded if I was carrying my usual cross body bag. Side note only interested in cash, dropped wallet with AirTag, all id’s and credit cards in a post box. Able to retrieve, grateful for “honor among thieves”. Reasonable size and decent basic functionality but know that bag is not secure.

Got this as a "mom" purse
I'm having a baby in a few months and wanted to get a cross-body bag that would hold all of my stuff plus any little items for my little dude. This bag is very sturdy - very well-made and worth the money. It's adjustable and can be worn as a backpack or cross-body. I prefer the cross-body, which may change, once my baby is here. I did purchase a smaller wallet - but not because this wouldn't fit my wallet, because it would. The water bottle side zips up, if you don't need it. I use the water bottle option from time to time for my slim Vera Bradley water bottle, and it fits snug. My small complaint is that I have an iPhone XR, and the front zipper/compartment barely fits it - if the bag is stuffed, the phone will NOT fit in that compartment. I do love the inside compartment, which has a padded area that you can put a small tablet (or your phone) inside. I just like my phone to be easily accessible. It LOOKS like a mom purse - as in it is not like couture-looking, so if you're conscious about that, I would look for something different. It works for what I need though!

While I like the design of the bag itself
I purchased this bag for an upcoming trip to Europe. I didn't want to have to worry about getting pickpocketed while on vacation and the fact that this was a convertible bag that had a side pocket to hold a small water bottle, I thought this would fit the bill. While I like the design of the bag itself, there are 2 issues I have with the bag that makes me hold off on purchasing Travelon bags in the future. First, the bag was smaller than I had thought. While I fit everything I needed, it would have been better if it was a bit bigger. That issue isn't the deal breaker. The deal breaker was the fact that the top zipper latch broke 2 days into my trip. The zipper latch is supposed to 'lock' to make it difficult for someon to just unzip my bag and be able to get to my wallet and other things in the bag. While I can place my wallet in the inner zipped area there was no way I can fit my small camera and/or phone in there as well. So basically the security I was looking for was non-existent. There were times I wanted to use the bag as a backpack but couldn't because I was nervous that someone can unzip my bag and get into it. I should have taken my PacSafe bag with me instead if I knew I wouldn't be able to use this as a backpack. I'm going overseas again and will not be bringing this bag with my. I've had my PacSafe (Pacsafe Citysafe CS200 Anti-Theft Handbag) for years and it's NEVER disappointed me like this bag has.
