My Spektrum DX6 fits nice. I am sure your Q7 transmitter would fit good too. You can always cut the foam if more room is needed. Hope that helps you.

how do you trim the foam to fit the transmitter? example for an antenna or accessories. to just fit it but not cut all the way down to buttom of case.

The foam insert is already cut out to fit most transmitters, but if you decide that it needs more trimming it can be easily removed and trimmed. Or you can trim it in the case with an Exacto type knife or single edge razor blade.

What are exterior/interior dimensions? under product description exterior 13x10x4.5; product information its 14.4x5.6x11.2. need for dx9.

Mine is 13 1/4 x 9 x 4 1/2 exterior dimensions. I use a DX6 and it fits great
