CEILING FAN CAPACITOR CBB61 4.5uf+6uf+5uf 5 WIRE

Worked well upon the installation and initial test and running fine. The only issue is the wire color scheme from my original was different than the one received, but i knew that going into the purchase. It seems to be a comparable part to the Hunter Capacitor which originally came with my fan. I also had to make one hard splice from the original with a wire-nut to the new capacitor. That was because the Red (assume hot) was terminated into the Hunter coupler and the only way to connect was the splice/wire nut. One other thing to note in the installation, is the switches (on mine) had a release function for the wire end to come out, and took a bit of finagling to have the wires free out of the two switches (one the speed switch, the other the direction switch). The release function is what is commonly seen when wiring a 110V wall outlet or wall switch. If you've done any electrical wiring you will know what I'm talking about.

Easy to install, works perfectly. A very inexpensive alternative to replacing the entire fan. If you’re comfortable installing this replacement part, it installs quickly, less that 5 minutes. It’s been installed now for several months and I suspect it will last the life of the fan. You’ll need to have some spare wire nuts if you need to cut into the existing harness so have them on hand.

Our ceiling fan had stopped spinning at anything faster than super slow. This replacement part fixed it - there are plenty of YouTube videos that show you how. Just make sure to select the right one for your fan. I took the fan apart first to get a photo of the current part.

This 5-Wire ceiling fan capacitor (4.5uf, 6uf, 5uf) worked perfectly to replace the dead capacitor in my Hampton Bay ceiling fan. It shipped quickly and the wire ends were perfectly pre-stripped and tinned. I turned off the circuit breaker and I took a picture of the old wiring before removing the dead capacitor. I used a sharp awl to push-in the quick-release next to each wire on the chain-operated speed switch, and then I could easily pull out the old wires and push in the new wires. A good price for this product and a pretty easy item to install for DIY types of people.
