I don't under stand this wiring. ri am running led strip has a + and -. other dimmers i have used had + & - in then + &- out. how do you wire?

Our dimmers work great with LED strips, but the wiring is different from other dimmers you may have used in the past. Here is what you need to do to get it working:1 - Connect the + (positive) wire from the LED to the dimmer WHITE wire and to +12 volts.2 - Connect the - (negative) wire from the LED to the dimmer RED wire.3 - Connect the BLACK wire from the dimmer to ground.If you still need some help or have additional questions, our technical support department will be happy to help you. how is it mounted/secured?

It secures by tightening the included threaded thumb nut.

Do these turn the light all the way off?

Yes, the dimmer will turn the LED off.

Will it take 18 volts?

All the literature that comes with the dimmer refers to 12 VDC. While it might handle 18 volts, I wouldn’t recommend it.
