Beautiful Flowers
It’s 05/18/24, and I planted the seeds in my hydroponic garden around 02/14/24. Likely due to my inexperience with hydroponic gardens and planting dahlias, the germination rate was modest. If I did it again, I would only plant one or two seeds in each pod, rather than 5-6 or more. I would also plant some in dirt with a grow light. (There are a number of YT videos you can watch to help with planting dahlias from seed. It is more popular to plant them from tubers which are like bulbs.) The plants I have are flourishing, and then are a lot more flowers ready to bloom. (Tip: I saw in one YT video that after you cut the dahlia or it dies and dries up, there are seeds Withings the flower if you crunch it up in your hand.)

Only one seedling came up
I am rather disappointed. Seats were placed in my usual germination tray with good potting soil under appropriate lighting. They were even placed on top of my usual heating pads. All my peppers sprouted perfectly my tomatoes basil spinach lettuce you name it, but these just sit there and do nothing. Granted they were just an experiment to see if I could do it, but it was an experiment that failed. I will stick with growing dahlias from tubers in the future. Perhaps I will save some seed from my own stock and give that a try. Also it’s worth a try I mean they weren’t that expensive like three bucks so, I really can’t complain, even though I am.

Every single seed germinated
I never read the reviews until now. Glad i didn’t because so many people said they never grew and i probably never would’ve ordered knowing that. Mine sprouted so fast and have been growing healthy ever since. Can’t wait to see which colors pop out. Don’t cover your seeds! i just sprinkled mine hoping for the best and once they sprouted i pushed them a little farther into the soil.

As expected
had a little bit of luck last year with these, just planted some more to start for spring, didn't know it is helpful to soak the seeds before planting

Not so impressive…every pod is yellow
I grew about 15 plants from seed. Unfortunately, EVERY SINGLE ONE is yellow. Just yellow. Not worth the extra money for a “rare mix”…not so rare….

So far so good... about 80% are growing
I wasn't expecting much from these seeds once they arrived in their plain plastic bag. But after I got them started indoors I would guess that about 80% of the seeds I planted started to grow. I recently moved them to a raised planter outdoors so at this point if they don't bloom it's probably user error (i.e. my fault). I'll update this review later when I see what the flowers look like but so far everything seems to be good. BOTTOM LINE: Not wrapped up too fancy but they seem to be okay. **UPDATE** Mid-August and they have finally started blooming! I will post a few pictures when (if?!) others begin to flower but so far it's just the yellow ones. Took quite awhile for them to bloom -- I did get a pretty late start on the season and when I transferred them from a raised planter to a garden bed it took a while for them to get over the shock. Very happy with these. I expect that more will blossom soon. **LAST UPDATE** It looks like just about all the plants that originally sprouted have reached maturity and started to flower. It's only been the yellow and purple (with yellow centers) flowers but I like them a lot. There are two plants with little bulbs that haven't quite flowered yet but I don't really expect any more variety in terms of color. I'm happy with what I got & still believe it was a bargain for the price.

Breathtaking Dahlias
I loved how easy these were to grow. The size was massive and easily the size of a large fist. 👊. They had a shape and color I had never seen in a dahlia before. Plus all of my neighbors were amazed. I didn’t get a ton of variety but it was worth what I did get and they are physically durable and long lasting ♥️🌸

NOT at all as described
I was so excited for these. Especially when my seeds sprouted. I watched, waited, and they grew. I topped them as you are supposed to, for more blooms. The flowers looked like oversized dasies. I am so disappointed. Also, I ended up with about 20 plants from 100 seeds. All started the same. Many didn't grow, but rotted instead. I do not recommend these seeds for anyone who loves actual dahlias. Better off getting bulbs or tubers from Costco or a local nursery
