oh so good. they stay mostly soft, and wrap around your sore spot, so you can really cool it quickly. super soft if you put it in the regular freezer, but if you put it in the deep freezer it gets kinda crunchy, like Italian ice or something and it's super satisfying as you wrap/crunch it around your kneck or knee. I have know idea why the crunch satisfies me, but as i Feel that, I know it's going to work well.. also bonus, they're kinda inexpensive.

Context: I just had a total hip replacement Pro: If you give them enough time in the freezer, they get very cold and stay cold for long enough to actually be therapeutic and not just a superficial temporary pain reliever that doesn't penetrate to the muscle/tissue. If you use a barrier, they're still cold enough to be effective in this way. If you use the packs because of a hip replacement, the big ones mold to the hip/thigh nicely. I use a small one to ice the groin, which also gets beat up during hip replacement. There are no straps, so you might have to improvise. I find that slippage is reduced if I wear pants or shorts over the packs to keep them in place (the snugger the better). Since I just place the packs directly on my skin, my boxer briefs work well to keep it from moving. There are straps you can buy, but the hip is a tricky area for using these. Same with a shoulder. A strap seems useful for knees, but I have experience with that. I also tried one of those huge gel packs that are specially designed for hip icing, but it 1. did not get or stay cold enough and 2. it didn't sit flatly and mold to the body like a seal, which led to parts of the thigh/hip not being iced. The gel packs I'm reviewing don't have this problem. Con: If they've been in the freezer for a long time, they'll actually freeze into an almost solid slush that requires a thawing out time. My technique is to lay/sit on it (clothed of course) for 1-2 minutes to soften it a bit, then place it where it needs to be. I like to put ice directly on my skin, so I just make sure to thaw it out until the gel is deep blue (as opposed to the the icy blue color when it's frozen). You can find your own sweet spot. If you don't mind a bit of thawing, this won't be an issue. Note: I keep my freezer at almost the coldest setting to speed up the freezing process. If your ice packs take forever to get cold, maybe turn the freezer up. If they're icy and you don't want that, turn it down. Seems obvious, but you never know. This product is perfect for using on any part of your body that has been injured or bruised. I used it for a knee injury and it wraps the cold pack around and velcros closed. Extra gel pack makes it easy to switch out one for the other if needed. I only use for cold but it can be warmed as well.

I’m not very impressed with the ice packs as they don’t get very cold and they don’t stay cold for very long. The are also a bit smaller than I thought they would be. I’ve used ice Packs for years for a variety of aches and pains such as muscle, & back aches as well as muscle pulls and have found them to be more substantial and sustaining..

My head keeps aching from overheating when working on the computer, so this has been helpful!👍 However, if you freeze these gel packs and wear them too soon, you may receive an "icecream headache".🍧 I recommend using it on your neck first, to let it thaw a little.⛄ I used to strap an ice pack to my forehead with a sock; this is much better!👍

I’m extremely disappointed. The wrap arrived without the actual ice pack, making it completely unusable. Since then, it’s been a nightmare trying to get a return or refund.. it's been back-and-forth and zero resolution. Total waste of time and money. I wouldn’t recommend this product to anyone.
