Good pencils
A good range of colors, if not as varied as I'd like. No, they're not pre-sharpened, but I managed to trim them with a standard, cheap manual sharpener. Be gentle and you'll be fine. The colors do smudge a little as charcoal does, and the color is nice. The red is especially vibrant, something I was worried about. If you're just looking for a simple set at a good price, these are a good investment.

I am quite happy with the pencils. ( I not only use them to draw, but also to mark on cross stitch patterns. And then if I want to reuse the pattern, I just erase the marks & reuse the pattern!

Great charcoal pencils. Great price!
Hereโs the thing about charcoal pencils. It really depends on the paper you use. I was very excited to use these because I had used Pandafly and Markart in the past. But because I was also excited to use Strathmore Toned Mix Media Blue paper. It was a bit of a struggle to blend. Now that I think about it. Strathmore blue paper is heavier and thicker than the toned tan paper that I use often. It says itโs a vellum surface. I found myself having to reapply and add layers upon layers to get a smooth look. And with the toned tan. I donโt have to add much. But overall these were wonderful and I believe had I drawn this on a Bristol smooth paper. Or the lighter toned tan paper, the colors would pop and apply very easily to the paper. But I will definitely say this is a very good buy and the colors seem richer in tone which I loved. They were more of a creamy charcoal feel too. Just wonderful!

Good charcoal pencils
Great colors and very bendable for skin tones, a little hard to sharpen bc the lead keeps breaking but I think having an electric sharpener would help

Both good and bad
Pencils are bright colors that are harder than pastel. They are not sharpened and I dulled two Kim sharpeners trying to sharpen as the charcoal part just eats the โ Sharpโ . The green pencil had broken lead and I lost about an inch of pencil trying to get it sharpened at all . These are NOT pastel but could be very interesting as they are water soluble.

Excellent Variety of Hues and Uses
These charcoals are excellent for either high contrast colour design, simple portraits (rendered on the right paper and blended with Conte sticks) or backgrounds and dream-like settings. Excellent for figure drawing as well. So many uses and the different hues make the work so much more accessible than grey tones and washes.

Excellente qualitรฉ.
Parfait pour moi comme artiste du dimanche. Moins salissant que la pastel sec que j'ai connu. ๐

Extremely disappointed they are 'Made in China'. True enough, Terrible Quality.
All the leads are broken into parts. Already nearly a quarter or half gone before actually have the opportunity to use. Extremely disappointed and frustrated. Expected better quality products from Amazon US. If you want 'Made in China' pencils, buy from Chinese website. Much cheaper. Did not see that coming....
