10 x 12 feet satisfying grey sun shade
Very light and made of grey plastic, this rectangular sun shade measures 10 x 12 feet. It was delivered with only 4 plastic made strings and it would have been nice to get also hooks too. I had to order a set apart to install this product and I ordered 2 poles also to avoid holes in the plastic wooden imitation that covers parts of the house...I never planned to let it sit around as it is the hurricane season so I also needed something easy to install and uninstall. It is not as fast as a pop up tent, but it is, at such a little price, cheaper and less space eater. It creates shade for sure and it is not ugly. The quality is good despite it looses very very small particles here and there. For our little garden the dimensions we picked up is perfect. They have different size and colors. Easy to fold you can even bring it with you to the beach or to go camping if you get poles. It is nice to hang between trees if you have a park.

Nice Sail and good quality
The Right Triangle worked just great for my application. This Sail DID-NOT have Double Strapping as noted in the description. Since this was the biggest Sail I installed, I was really hoping that it did have the Double Strapping, but I believe it should hold up just fine. See my notes below about things to keep in mind before purchasing any Sail. I learned so much about geometry and Sail installation from my recent outdoor project that I’d like to share it with you. I’m renting this place so I had to spend my money wisely but efficiently. I installed a total of 5 Sails (2 rectangles, 1 right triangle & 2 triangles) each a different size & from different vendors. Each UV rating was between 180 to 190 GSM and they’re all close, I suppose. The most noticeable difference between them all was the stitching around the D-Rings. MEASURING TIP Each Sail was 8” to 16” longer than the dimensions supplied, measuring from ring to ring as if it’s laid out, not the length of the fabric between rings. Give yourself at least 38” allowance at each connection in the direction it’s being pulled. 12” to allow for fabric variation & stretch, 10” for a 4” turnbuckle & 16” for your attachment rope/cable/chain or…. If you don’t allow enough space, you may wind up with wrinkles in your fabric that don’t look so hot. INSTALLATION TIP I suggest running a small rope or a heavy string between your type points first to make sure that the Sail you’re purchasing is the right fit with enough allowances at each connection. I measured for the rectangle next to my deck using the suppliers 2 ft allowance, but the fabric variation made it too big and I had to get creative to use it. It was a bit complicated to make work but, in the end, it looked cool as heck. Obtaining the correct tie points for the triangles was the biggest challenge. By running a rope or a guy wire first, you’ll be able to determine the size sail that will fit within your tie points without wrinkles.

Decent Sun Shade, Slightly Smaller Than Expected
I purchased three Sun Shades, each measuring 10x13, but upon hanging them, I found that they appeared somewhat smaller than anticipated. While they did provide sun protection, I wished they were a bit larger to cover a larger area effectively. The build quality and material were good, but the size left something to be desired. Nevertheless, they served their purpose well, offering shade, and I appreciate the UV protection they offered.

Wonderful Shade
I am using it for a different kind of patio cover. I live inland in San Diego and it gets very hot in the summer. This shade is perfect for what I needed. My patio has a slotted cover so the sun seeps thru the slots and beats down on you. I installed under the slots, so was pretty simple with a few adjustments. It is rectangular shaped and slightly larger than needed but I was able to fold over. Now it's perfect. I had similar shade only sail shaped, so I'm using for additional shade when the sun gets lower, later in the afternoon. I like the material as easy to handle and very durable. I'm 74 and I was able to easily install with no problems. I do take it down in the winter, to wash off and store. Keeps it cleaner and doesn't accumulate additional dirt and leaves from the rain.

Decent for value
Good shade sail for the cost. If your looking for something to last more than a year or two I would consider something different. This sail does block shade but is very thin and has a lot of extra give.

Do not buy
Barely lasted 6 months. It becomes brittle. I've seen $5 tarps last longer than this.
