I use this on my motorcycle for every ride. Really works well.

I use this to charge the phone on my BMWK1600 (2015 year). I connect a USB cable to it and run it to the phone mounted near my handlebars. It does the job. The build quality appears to be good, and I like the indicator light that confirms it is working. Update (Long overdue update) - This this stopped working about 2 months after I purchased it.

Worked great for about 1.5 months. Really small and sits snugly in the DIN connector. Charges your phone quickly as well. Was great until it stopped working and I heard some rattling inside. Turns out a PFC coil snapped off from its connector and no longer charges. The connector is minuscule and looks like it would be prone to break in the future. The unit was never dropped and neither was the bike with it plugged in. Just be aware that there's a chance it can break.

Very good option for BMW motorcycles and charge very well, easy to use, size fit into pocket and tank bag, very compatible with BMW plugs, and worth the value for it.

The first one I purchased had issues, it would not make good contact and disconnect when I rotated the unit. Customer support only had more questions for me rather than providing solutions. And, they wanted me to ship it back to them at my own expense. I decided to ask Amazon for a replacement, which was done in record time: Thank You, Amazon! The second unit works well, no issues so far. The red logo and markings are a bit over the top, but it does the job.

UPDATE: Tecmate replaced this unit subsequent to my initial post. Update details at the end. - - - - Bought for use with 2014 Triumph Tiger Explorer XC. Based on positive reviews and initial inspection this product had all the promise of being excellent and best-in-class. I use my phone seldom when riding, plug in only when necessary. For about half of the maybe 10 total uses of this thing, charging was an on-and-off proposition. Finally discovered the cause. As others have observed the design of the center post is not good -- and the unit is not such that I can easily solder the thing back on (even if you do pop apart the glued together clamshell case). Very disappointed. Contacted Optimate through their website. Sent pictures, receipt, and explanation as prompted on their form. Never heard anything back. It is tempting just to buy another, but now knowing the design of the post assembly, there is no sense in trusting it even if others have had luck. Forget adventure riding, just normal inserting and extracting the post is enough to produce failure. The design can result in outward pressure on the post assembly, even with the product just sitting there. A minor hiccup in the assembly process is clearly all there is to one unit lasting briefly and the next unit lasting longer. The post attaches via compression fitting alone? Ouch. There are lots of positive reviews here, but this is not the "bulletproof" item for motorcycles that most of us are looking for. And they SHOULD be making good on their warranty, but sadly are not. ==== UPDATE March 8.2022 ==== On March 1, 2022 a representative from Optimate contacted me via email, saying "Thanks for all your patience. Sorry about the delay getting in contact with you, your form ended up in our International email box an error on our end, our apologies." Subsequent to this message a replacement was shipped to me without any hassle whatsoever, having previously submitted photos and dated receipt that was within the window of their warranty period. The substitute charger I ordered to replace the failed Optimate does not include a standby functionality that turns off USB charging. So, I am looking forward to putting the replacement from Optimate/TecMate into service. Original rating was one star, because of the failure to warranty the product. I raise it to three stars for now.

I'm using this on my BMW K1600GT to power my phone with a wireless Quad Lock mount on the bike. In doing research....there are many USB chargers with the DIN mount for the bike that don't shut off when the bike is not running. They also aren't weatherproof. This Tecmate is both. It's been working great. I go on long rides playing music from my phone to bluetooth speakers in my helmet never having to worry about draining the battery in my phone. It's solid, weatherproof, I still have an extra USB port if I need it and it shuts off so it doesn't kill my bike battery. A great choice!!!

A bit expensive charger but it gives me so much confidence that I won't stay in the middle of nowhere without the charger. I bought it and inserted in my bike. Since 2 years it never leaves the socket and operates perfectly even after jet-washing of the bike. I would definitely recommend this product to buy.

this is the second optimate charging adapter I have bought for my Tiger 800 XC. I bought the 0-115 a few weeks ago and it worked so well I felt I could do with another charge point for my pillion to plug into. The units are both smaller than I initially anticipated. And that makes using them a no fuss affair. They sit out of the way and don’t interfere with any controls or movements. Each of the units has two USB charging slots so you can charge your phone and run a sat nav from a single unit or run heated clothing if the weather is cold. I like the compact design which keeps the unit well out of the way. Having the O-105 on the side of the bike means sits flat against the panel so it won’t stick out to foul the pillion’s leg and risk being broken. The O-115 sticks straight out so I use that at the front of the bike where it won’t get caught on anything. The quality is really good and each USB port has a silicone seal which will help keep the majority of water and dirt out but probably wouldn’t withstand a torrential downpour so use with common sense. The slots on the unit each have silicone plugs to keep weather and dirt out while not in use but to be honest I’d remove them in really heavy rain as the plug they sit it doesn’t have the best weather proofing. Very well worth the money if you have peripherals you need to run or charge while out and about on your pride and joy.
