Would this be too young for an 11 year old?

I bought it for my 10 year old granddaughter and it was a success. I think it would be suitable for an 11 year old.

Is there his a good alternative if lack of space for a drum kit?

This was bought for our 7 year old daughter and she loves it. Stores away neatly in its box when not being used. Probably only suitable for a child, not geared towards anyone wanting to take up the drums more seriously
