The red light means there is an error. The most common error that causes a red light is the ribbon is not installed correctly. You should double-check it.

Will this print on black pvc cards?

Yes, this printer will print on any PVC CR80 card, but the YMCKO ribbon that this print comes with won't show up very well on a black card. If you want to print on a black card, then it's better to use a White, Gold, or Silver monochrome ribbon. IDP has those available.

Out of the box, can i import an excel database, even if it has to be done as a csv?

Hi, thanks for the question. Yes, the SMART IDesigner software that come free with the printer has an import feature. This will allow you to import a csv file.

Is this the same company as magic card, alpha card, and the rest?
