Works as intended.
A bit noisy but it works well. My pc without it while under a high gpu load is 65c. With this, i run 45c. It will prolong the life of your laptop. It's also not terrible to while laying down. Highly recommended.

Noisy but useful chill pad.
I have been using this product every day for several weeks now and overall I like it. It is well built except the glue that holds the rubber feet comes off very quickly. Fortunately, since I hold it in my lap to provide a barrier between my laptop and my lap, it doesn't really affect me. The fans keep the computer cool when I'm playing a game or doing something else that fires up the GPU or is CPU intensive. It cannot sense when this happens so runs the fans all the time. You cannot control the speed that the fans run and they have a high pitched sound that is noticeable. The integrated hub is a USB-A hub and works fine for slower USB devices. I wouldn't try to use it for a high speed SSD or network connection. It works well enough that I recommended it for my daughter when she purchased a new laptop last week.

Cheap plastic, weak wiring, and questionable fan placement equals a disappointing hybrid cooler/hub
Full disclosure: I bought this as a certified pre-owned unit for $19.99, and it may very well be a case of you get what you pay for here. Let's cut to the chase, though. This cooler is silent until it's not. I don't know if it's a worn ball bearing or if there's a physical defect that is causing noise with the fans, but this thing is the loudest cooling fan I've ever owned. Were it not for the USB hub and sporadic moments when it works properly, it'd already be in the trash. Noise and questionable cooling aside, the wired connection is fairly weak. I've had it cut out on me when the wire is accidentally nudged while playing Overwatch. It's annoying and a consequence of cheap parts and poor quality control. I'm hoping to rectify the problem with a mixture of compressed air and WD-40 Electrical, but that also seems like it's more trouble than it's worth at this point. I've lost confidence in this cooling fan and am already looking for a more sturdy solution with more than two fans.

I received the plastic Chill Mat instead of the metal Chill Hub, so I'm reviewing that one instead.
Arrived late, and when I got it, instead of the metal pad I ordered, it was the much cheaper, plastic one. I was told I could return it, I am not going to. If I had wanted to run an errand, I would have gone to a store. So bearing that in mind, this is a review for the much cheaper, plastic one. Cons: * It is obnoxiously loud, unless you put the stand down all the way; in which case, what was the point of buying an adjustable stand? * It is incredibly shaky to type on, unless you put the stand down all the way, in which case, what was the point of buying an adjustable stand? * The USB ports are on the back, which could be fine for some people, but for me, it is not, because it means they are underneath the USB ports on my laptop, making them much harder to see and use. * The cable connecting the fans to the USB power cable does not seem very good, and is not replaceable. Pros: * I bet it works fine. There's a decent amount of airflow. I'm not going to use it, because it feels cheap, but that's my guess; that it works fine. * My computer looks really good when the stand is raised. Unfortunate, because I need to do more with my PC than look at it. * I bet this would be really really good for detecting earth quakes as they're happening. * Probably an okay deal if you paid $20 or $30 less than I did and are expecting something simple and plastic that you do not intend to adjust. But I did not pay $20 or $30 less, I paid $65 according to my order, and I did intend to adjust it, so it was a very bad deal. * It's a good exercise for my imagination to pretend that something else I ordered was instead $60 more expensive so that I can justify ordering a different cooler instead.

Targus Chill
Arrived on time, nice packaging. Still using it, makes a starting noise here and there. I have to stop one of the fans for a minute or two and then the noise stops. Would definitely buy in the future when this one completely breaks.

Noisy, Noisy, Noisy!
Bought this to use, but Covid interrupted, so i was only able to start using it a few days ago. I am shocked that this new one is so noisy, the first you couldn't tell it was running at all, silent. I hope that the manufacturer contacts me or sends me a replacement and I'll send this one for them to hear for themselves. This is the second chill pad from this manufacturer, the first broke from a fall. This one is useless.

Practical and eficient. Very good value.
Because of its design the fans do not need to be turned on, unless the temperature is very warm. The adjustable feature makes it very comfortable. The fans are a little noisy but not bothersome.

Great Find
Works well for the gaming computer used for a golf simulator as the high graphic caused much heat when in use and pc crashed once without this but not since. For non-tech people to adjust pc software this was any easy fix. Also works just to raise up a pc for better desk ergonomics.

But the yellow plastic knob that locks the Laptop at a desired angle doesn't really hold -- it slips off its position with the slightest nudge. Left side more so than the right. So I am unable to position my Laptop at an angle.

Accurate description of product, the stand is plastic but of high quality. The fans are on the loud side and not very strong but I have not used competitor products so can't comment if this is better or worse than peers. Just to note

Looks nice but after few uses it started to shake. I feel it will break anytime. Had it only for two weeks. If nothing better on the market it should be ok for few weeks. Over prized big time considering that is shaking and feels like very cheap quality

The ‘Targus chill mat+ with 4-PORT USB 2.0 HUB’ dual cooling fans were very noisy. I was very disappointed with the product.
