Here in the Phoenix area most homes have a Reverse Osmosis water filter under the kitchen sink to remove the high amount of dissolved solids in our water which usually measures in a range of 400PPM to 500PPM. IIRC the EPA standard is 50PPM or below. The RO filter lowers the total dissolved solids in our water to 40-70PPM. The device allows us to confirm the workings of our RO filter system so we know when to replace the various filters in the unit. Without a TDS meter we are left to guess how the system is doing or pay someone to come out and measure it for us. The TDS meter pays for itself if you can avoid even one visit by a water service technician.

used on the water from the tap and the water from my water purifier and read the same for both. That does not seem possible, plus when using it in my hot tub the temp reading was not correct as to the tub reading on the digital readout. This is a little disappointing, now wondering if the readings for the TDS are accurate or not, and it is extremely important to have the correct readings as my wife has cancer and is working on beating most of it naturally. Did not contact the seller.

The only reason that I gave the meter a four was that I don't have any knowledge about water meters. I followed the directions and it seems to work fine but I don't know if the readings are accurate or not since I have no other way to tell. I assumed they are accurate and have used the results to set my water softener recycle period.

Bought to test my water at my house and it works spot on with my old one. I like how it tells you the temp and EC. Came in nice carry leather case.

Product is not calibrated and is useless. I sent for a replacement and the 2nd one was even less accurate.

Happy with this device. I believe it is accurate, providing readings of 80-90 on my SF tap water and 0-3 on RO water.

The temp is not accurate on this thing. It's about 5-6 degrees off
