I thought this square would be a worthless gimmick after using a normal speed square for years. I was very wrong it's very sturdy and accurate

This tool simply rocks. It is really well build and hefty - perhaps a little too much as it makes it definitely heavier than most. But, that means it will last. Etchings are laser engraved even though it's hard to tell as I think the etchings are painted over to make it more visible. So expect the paint to eventually wear off, leaving just the etchings, which I hope will be visible enough. The extension is superb and obviously the higlight of this tool. It is sturdy and clips into place. Easy to take out. The hinge appears to be a rod hammered in. Don't think it will come out anytime soon - but only time will tell. It's a bit stiff, and not loose, which is great, but maybe tad too stiff. Perhaps a little bit of lubricant in the joint would help. My only gripe is that a metric version existed. Of course angles are angles, so that is universal. But the actual distance measurement is only in imperial - great for North Americans - and sucks for...well basically rest of the world. Great product - you will love it
