Loud, well built, great sound quality, Stop Looking and Buy This One Now
If you're looking for a record player that delivers good sound and looks sharp as hell, stop your search, add this to your cart, start using AmazonSmile if you're not, and order this machine immediately. I had a record player for 10 years that was a large all in one (CD, Radio, Aux, Phonograph, Tape), it finally started sounding a little dicey when I was listening to Fleetwood Mac Rumors album, which is obviously the main reason anyone needs a record player. In order to give the best album of all time the justice it deserved, I decided it was time for an upgrade. I bought a Crosley Player Turntable with USB Connection for about $80. Got it home, shocked by the light weight of the box, pulled it out, and realized it felt extremely cheaply made, but obviously, it's all about the sound. Hooked it up, started the record, and was painfully disappointed. Thought about hooking my old unit back up because it sounded better. The sound of the $80 Crosley couldn't make it across my small bedroom at full volume. It sounded horrible and weak, and was made poorly. Then I started reading reviews on Amazon for a unit Audiophiles would like that were affordable. My choice came down to three options, and this one won. I am so happy it did. The machine feels heavy and well made. I would say that it feel well made for a $150 unit, let alone the $50 that I paid for it. The dust cover closes over the record so you can close it while playing. It fit perfectly on my corner bookshelf that is 17in wide. The speakers in the front mean the sound projects perfectly where I need it to, and this thing is LOUD. The sound not only reached across my room (as it should) it reached down into another level of my house and sounded like a dream. Also, the song Dreams from the Fleetwood Mac Rumors album sounded like a dream on it, and honestly, I don't need much more from life than that. If you're shopping around, give this one a shot and you won't be disappointed. I will update this if anything happens to it in the future. NOTE: I have not been paid to endorse this thing, or Fleetwood Mac Rumors album, or AmazonSmile, but all three of those things are dope, and you should use them all.

The speakers are good. the wood is better in person! easy to use and its sexy. dont get a suitcase like a 12 year old.
Got this for my main squeeze for his bday. GET THE DUST COVER!!!! I'm so for-serious about that... I live in Manhattan and this place is dusty AF! So i got it, and if youre around anywhere that air resides....... yeah you'll get dust...... and I'll be hot darned if i hear about anyone's records getting dust up inside those crevasses because i failed to add that tid bit in. The sound gets LOUD too... i have yet to turn the speakers all the way up! The sound isnt like SONOS or anything. Dont expect that.. and if you do... why are you even looking at records? The point is to hear to the pop... (in my humble opinion) I got this kind for the design. Yes i paid a bit more... but me and my man are 30 years old... what the eff am i gonna do with a suitcase record player? Idk... i feel that suitcase record players just dont fit my man's style. Hes a classic NY lawyer Kenyan man. He like that minimal, sleek, modern, but classic look... Im totally glad i got it because its totally None frill and would work well in ANY style of room. The wood looks a lot better in person than in the pics. the controls are EASYYYYY to figure out. Like, toats. A child could figure it out without scratching a record, not once. Read the instructions if youre concerned... and then theres youtube and google! figure it out, people! Anywho... thats that. Get it... :)

Beautiful record player that does what it's supposed to
Overall this is a great first turntable for a newly converted vinyl fiend. After using my mother's old record player, it was time to get my own. From a purely aesthetic point of view, this record player gets five stars. It's a beautiful, modern-looking and sturdy piece of equipment, and I really liked that a full 12 inch LP can fit on the turntable and still be completely covered by the dust-cover. Assembling the dust cover took about 5 seconds. I also like that the dust cover is clear, so I can watch the records spin (something that is oddly entertaining and soothing). The tone arm is made of what seems like simple plastic, but it's pretty solidly put together so I'm ok with that. As for it's actual record playing abilities, it has so far worked extremely well. I almost exclusively play LPs, which sound and play smoothly. I have a 45 that also plays fine. Note: with 45's, the automatic setting on the turntable causes the 45 to stop before the song is through. Just switch to automatic and all is well. I haven't tried 78's. The speakers on the player aren't the greatest (tinny and like playing music from your laptop speakers or cheap radio), but when I put my headphones in, I was blown away by how fantastic it sounds. Full stereo. I imagine full-blown external speakers would make the unit sound even better. I play mostly old jazz records ranging from the 1950's to now and in varying condition from brand-new to scratched, and the record player's tone arm and needle didn't skip nearly as much as I thought it would, instead playing relatively cleanly regardless of whether the record was 60 years old or 6 days old. Even the newer 180gram records played without a hitch. I do have two hangups that knocked a star off the review. One of the cons is the needle. As great as it is, the needle makes an odd (grating, chewing?) sound as the record spins that's really only an issue on quieter sections. My second hangup is the fact that on occasion when I turn on the player and play a record after a while of non usage, the record seems to spin slower for a few seconds, as if the belt drive is warming up. It's not terrible, and seems variable, but it is a personal hangup just the same. Lastly, the vinyl converter software included is actually pretty decent and relatively simple to use. I've already converted two rare Brubeck albums onto my computer and into iTunes. Overall, this is a nice record player that does what it's supposed to do, sounds great, and looks beautiful and modern doing it.

The Best (and Most Beautiful) Stand Alone Turntable on the Market
After reading the reviews, I was on the fence as to whether or not to purchase this turntable. I liked that it came with speakers but wasn't sure about the quality. (I thought that if the speakers were horrible, then I'd have to purchase new speakers anyway, so why not buy an Audio Technica?) However, I'm glad I bought the Ion Audio Max. First, the wood finish is beautiful and the unit is not too bulky. It was easy to find a place for it in my home. Second, this is the best unit I've found that can play records out of the box. The other reviewers were right that the speakers are not the best quality (they are good but not "blow your socks off" great), but I found that I can easily plug in my computer speakers to the unit. This made it relatively cheap to improve the sound quality. I have a Bose set Companion®2 Series III Multimedia Speaker System , which are awesome. Overall, I am very glad I bought this turntable. I get many compliments from visiting friends. It didn't break the bank, is lovely, and does the job well.

Amazing and nostalgic - lots of family fun!
I recently purchased the ION Audio Max LP Black Turntable and am extremely impressed with its quality and features. The three-speed settings (33 1/3, 45, and 78 RPM) accommodate my entire vinyl collection, while the built-in stereo speakers deliver crystal clear sound. Its sleek, piano black design is both stylish and functional. The connectivity with external speakers and media sources via RCA outputs and 1/8-inch aux input is seamless, enhancing my listening experience. Additionally, the USB output and included EZ conversion software make digitizing my vinyl collection a breeze. At $69.99, this turntable is a steal, considering its versatility and the quality of sound it delivers. It also comes with a protective dust cover, 45 adapter, and felt slip-mat, adding to its value. In summary, the ION Audio Max LP Black is an excellent choice for both vinyl enthusiasts and newcomers. Its blend of performance, style, and affordability makes it a standout in its category. Highly recommended!

Great for the Money
I got this because my Crosley turntable has an issue with the belt where it'll randomly squeal and mess up the recording. I'm always leery of trying new brands of electronics I'm not familiar with, but after reading a number of reviews and also looking at what some of the tech reviews it got online, I figured I'd give it a shot. I'm not disappointed in the slightest. While I can tell there's a very minute different in the sound between this unit and my old Crosley, it wasn't enough that it's super noticeable. You have to really be listening for it in order to tell, and let's face it, unless you're an audiophile, you're mostly going to be listening for the music anyway. This unit is very easy to set up and works great with Audacity. The lever which raises and lowers the needle goes down very slowly, so it's very gentle when starting to play the album. My only major complaint with this is that, when it comes to the end of the album side you're working on, rather than automatically raise the needle up and return it to its home position (like what my Crosley would do), the turntable just stops dead. Then it starts again when you raise the needle to move it back to the home position so you can switch the album to the next side. If you're doing something else while recording, you have to keep an eye on it because Audacity will keep recording till you hit STOP.

Really poor drive belt setup
I was really disappointed in this. I never even got to play it. When I tried playing it, the platter did not turn because the belt had come off. On most turntables, this would be a minor thing to fix, but on this turntable, it’s not. There’s no access hole in the platter for setting the belt, like there is on many/most other turntables. Instead, there’s a really dumb arrangement in which you have to remove the turntable, stretch the belt over a pin on its underside, then replace the platter and rotate it first two turns clockwise and then two turns counterclockwise, which is supposed to cause the belt to jump from the pin to the drive spindle. Except that in my case, it broke the pin, making it impossible to mount the belt and therefore impossible to use the turntable. If you’re thinking of buying this turntable, be sure to search for “belt” in the Questions section of the Amazon page and in user reviews. I failed to notice the problem when I was researching this turntable. Mounting the belt is so tricky that one owner in the Questions section wrote, “it is easier to pull your nose hairs with an adjustable wrench than placing that belt again". So true! The plastic pin that broke must be really fragile. This astonishes me. I was just following directions. I’m careful and experienced. I’ve been building my own computers for over 25 years and I've been taking apart and assembling electronic devices since I was a kid. I’m careful. That pin should never have broken. One other problem: it didn’t come with the 45rpm adapter that’s supposed to be included. I didn’t care because I only planned to play some 1940s family 78’s to convert them to digital, but now I’m hoping that when I return it, I don’t get dinged for not returning what I never received. I never was able to use the turntable, so I can’t comment on its performance, but I did see two really atrocious design features. One is that the power is in the rear, making it awkward to turn it on and off. The other is that there's no power indicator, so there's no way of telling whether it's on or off by looking at it. If the power button were in front, then there would be a way to know whether it was on. On the positive side, it is good looking and the software was easy to download and install (it comes on the included CD, but I downloaded it to be sure I had the most recent release). I just wish I’d gotten to use it. I hate writing negative reviews, but there’s nothing else I can do on this one.

Audiophile? Not for you.
If you're expectations are fairly low, you'll be more than satisfied. I started collecting records because I love the warmth, depth, and clarity of vinyl. I thought this little guy looked great, had some great reviews, and some cute little features that would seem just perfect for my needs. Eh. Not quite. Don't get me wrong, the built-in speakers are kind of cool and the fact that it's a 3-speed is really nice. But as I plugged this into my receiver, I noticed that there's a noticeable cutoff on the low and high ends when it comes to sound quality. Compared to my roommate's old Onkyo record player, this one just didn't hold a candle. Now, with that being said, if you just want a fun little record player and you're not picky on sound quality, by all means I would recommend this. It looks great, has some really nice features, and the price is just about right. But if you really want to enjoy the clarity, warmth, and depth that vinyl records have to offer, I'd recommend spending a few more bucks on the Audio Technica AT-LP60.
