Excellent Architecture Example Book
I use this book as an educational tool for teaching speculative sections for my architecture studio and seminar classes. Having been taught by Paul Lewis, I find this book really helpful for students to understand the competition and diagrammatic section. These sectional drawings are also really clear, as great case-studies for any architect or designer to further study the buildings that are highlighted. Excellent book.

Must have for any student or professor
Fantastic for learning how to draw and format section drawings as well as quick info on the buildings drawn. Bought this for myself and it quickly became the most borrowed book in studio.

Recommend for Your Library
Received this book this morning, and it is great for the price. The negatives - Paper quality is not great and the sections are all interrupted by the crease in the middle of the book. However, there is a good deal of content that covers a lot of buildings and types and the intro essays are fun. Drawings are generally pretty detailed and fun to look at. Overall, it is a good reference book to have in your library, especially for the price.

framework of knowledge of section
A book make me know how to read others’ section, how to draw a useful section and see architecture design from another perspective. Read one section per day and write notes on it with pencil, love it.

X-ray Vision, Uniformly Applied
This is a great premise for a book– a kind of utilitarian, X-ray vision to study iconic examples of architecture. Some of these buildings you'll know well, but you'll be able to see them from the inside out. There's something mesmerizing about these drawings, akin to the fascination of see-through books of the human body– the invisible man– with layers showing arteries, muscles, veins, etc. Not least, the drawings are lucid and consistent, allowing an unfiltered transparency that is uniform regardless of the individual building.

An amazing new look at familiar buildings
An amazing new look at familiar buildings. I already new something about every building in the book, but the new way of looking at each taught me something about each one. It's a useful teaching tool to explain sectional spacial relationships and it's really beautiful.

Article en occasion mais en très bon état! A l'intérieur, de belles illustrations en coupe des bâtiments renommés tels que : la Glass house de Philip Johnson ou encore la Sendai Mediatheque de Toyo Ito, accompagnés de petits textes descriptifs. Très joli cadeau pour tous ceux qui seraient intéressés par l'architecture et par de belles représentations en filaire. Totalement satisfaite de mon achat.

Especialmente editado para amantes del dibujo arquitectónico, este libro nos aproxima a la técnica del corte en sección de una maravillosa selección de edificios emblemáticos, con una esmerada selección de arquitectos, pasando por Alvar Aalto, Le Corbusier, Alvaro Siza, Toyo Ito, Lloyd Wright y la sensibilidad de Lina Bo Bardi… El libro consta de tres partes: _ Una introducción inicial de 39 páginas, repasando algunos hitos históricos y las técnicas más usadas en la creación de secciones. _ La parte principal del libro, con 144 páginas, donde encontramos una sola sección de 63 edificios, ocupando dos páginas completas cada uno, con dibujos que siguen una misma edición, mucha claridad de imagen y una buena calidad de detalles, incluyendo una pequeña descripción de la obra. _ Anexos con diversos índices y una muestra de las obras realizadas por el estudio “LTL Architects”, promotores de este libro.
