No serum in collection tube- just my blood. How can that keep my sample stable?

If your blood does not appear to be mixing with the solution at the bottom of the blood collection tube, please do not worry. Once you have inverted the blood tube 5 to 10 times this is perfectly fine. 
Although it may not look like the solution is mixing with the blood, the stabilization solution is working to stabilize the sample.
Please do not worry if it does not appear that there is a visible solution, it is often a hard substance in the tube.

I may have contracted lymes many years ago. Will this test work for that?

Our Lyme disease test follows a Modified Two-Tiered Testing (MTTT) protocol. It can detect a current infection or previous Lyme Disease.

It will not differentiate between the two. Instead you will either receive a "negative" or a "positive" result.

The test can remain positive months or years after successful treatment or resolution of infection, but the length of time can vary per individual and may be negative if testing a long time after a resolved infection.

While we do not publish the rates of our patients' positive (or reactive) results of this test please rest assured that all LetsGetChecked tests are physician-approved and are as accurate as tests you would take in a healthcare facility. All tests are analyzed in labs which are CLIA certified and CAP-accredited.

You should consider taking this ELISA test if you have symptoms, or if you may have been exposed to Lyme disease carrying ticks. In the case of a positive result, further testing to confirm the diagnosis may be required.

It can take 2-6 weeks after a tick bite for the Lyme Disease Test to identify antibodies in the blood. If you are concerned about Lyme disease you should consider testing (or retesting) 6 weeks after the tick bite.

If you develop the erythema migrans rash, or if you experience any neurological symptoms, you should contact your physician immediately.
