Keeps my mom safe
I’m a full-time career for my mother who is 99 years old. It has been a lifelong habit to get up out of bed and go to the bathroom when she needs to. However, she has the balance of a drunken toddler and she needs assistance. She’s fallen more than once and done real damage. I installed this device and it has more than paid for itself in less than three weeks. I have a baby monitor, but wouldn’t need it. The alarm is loud enough that I can hear it from across the hall. Fortunately, it’s in a tone that she can’t hear so she’s always surprised when I show up to help her to the bathroom. I cannot recommend this highly enough. A small device reasonably priced that works with ease.

This seemed to work pretty good.
This device has a mounting base that can be attached to the wall behind where the subject sits. The pull cord can then be attached to the back of the person's clothing. When they move forward to try to get up, the cord pulls out of the device and the alarm goes off. The alarm could be louder, but it works. Ideally, this can be used with a bed alarm and a baby monitor in order to have complete observation control over a person who likes to wander. This can keep them from falling and hurting themselves. Highly recommended for people with dementia.

It’s a Life Saver and a Fall Breaker!!
While I was a CNA in hospital setting, these are th exact same alarms we used to alert us when patients tried to get out of bed. Not all beds had alarms on them, so these were a life saver!! I never expected to need to use one on my mother; however, after breaking her arm at 80 yrs old and refusing to stay seated, I had to get something!!! I’m so happy I found this on Amazon and it’s been so worth the money and I’m sure I will get use out of it for years to come! Don’t hesitate to purchase this, it truly is a Life Saver!!!! They won’t call, then they fall!!! Protect your loved ones with one of these alarms!!

Loud
Perfect for doing the right thing. My MIL has Alzheimer’s and he helped for a long time until she figured out how to take it off. (I can pin it still) It is great.

Working great!
Works great! has two volume levels. Strong magnet. Adjustable cord length. We already have an alarm pad for Mom's bed and chair, but this lets us known when she's changing position to get up-- Instead of when she's already on her feet with just the alarm pad. That way we can be with her sooner to keep her from falling. It's a bit irritating to turn off while we're dealing with mom, since the off/low/high button is very small and hard to get to in a recessed area, but of course that's by design to keep it from being tampered with by the person to which it's attached. It's a bit pricy for what it is, but I'm glad we have it.

Works well
The box had a sticker on it that said it had a chemical in it that causes cancer in the state of California. I wrote the company to ask where the chemical is located and they said the sticker was put on the box by mistake and there was no chemical in it that causes cancer in the state of California. So hopefully that is true. I kept it and we are using it. As far as the alarm goes, it is easy to set up and use, and works fine. It will keep my mother from falling again.

OKAY IF NEAR BY - VELCRO FELL OFF
Patient was a serious fall risk and I learned about the devise at the hospital which was used in addition to the bed alarm and the security camera. Patient is suffering from amnesia. The first few nights home from the hospital, the device worked fine until patient became stronger, faster and more aware. Do not rely on velcro for security - poor design. The back of the wheel chair is plastic and the velcro provided did not adhere to it. Also, the Velcro should be screwed into the device not just stuck to it as both pieces of velcro on the devise fell off after three weeks of use. Since patient is not always in the same spot, a second mounting bracket would be nice so one can be screwed on the wall near the bed or bed post and the other near the recliner. Also, if patient figures out how to take off the clip there goes your security. It was good for the first month when patient was not really aware of what was going on and we were always very close by.

My 92 year old has dementia. The care home where she lives in asked for this alarm. It has a Velcro strap that can be used to strap the alarm to her bed or to her chair.

We purchased two of these for our senior home in September, in case a resident may need one. They were different than the ones we normally purchase, but I couldn't find them, so I figured these were similar. It was brand new out of the box in November, a few months after it was purchased, and the alarm goes off continuously, even with the magnet in place. It will not stop. I attempted to replace the battery. Now the return window is closed, but the product never worked. I then tried the second one that we had ordered, and this one simply doesn't work at all. Its so unusual, that I thought we were doing something wrong, but I read all the instructions, replaced the batteries, and both do not work! I will not purchase these again.
