I have an Olde English Bulldogge who sinks like a rock. She does good to tread water at all. Because of this the water is not her friend which is a problem since she goes fishing with me on the boat and I take her to the beach. She has a deep chest and a narrow waist and I stuck to the size chart which said the size she needed could support up to a 70lb dog. That made me nervous because she is around 65-70 lbs. I took the chance and we hit the lake today. Like others said the straps have plenty of room to adjust and I was able to get a good snug fit without a problem. Then before getting in the water I used the lift straps to make sure all would hold. The jacket did great and feels very sturdy and well made letting me lift her with ease. Next we got in the water and to my amazement she started swimming all around the boat. It completely supports her and allows her to float with no effort on hr part. For the price this is an outstanding product that gives me piece of mind that she is safe on the water plus I can now let her cool off in deeper water and lift her back into the boat without hurting her or me.As for her wearing it. She doesnt seem to mind at all and almost seemed to enjoy it. She didnt chew or bite at any part of it and it did not rub or irritate her in any area. She had it on today from 6am to 330pm and showed no signs of being bothered by it. She also did not get hot in it and it actually keep her cool since it stayed nice and damp from being in the water. She has full movement and seemed nice and comfy laying around as I was fishing. Also it is a good color and if she was to fall in it is very high visibility to make a rescue easy.Dont hesitate. This product is well worth the money and more.Update(10-17-14)- Today I went fishing and while on my bass boat my trolling motor took a break. While working on getting it fixed my bulldog went to the back of the boat and got a drink from the lake. While Im sitting with bits and pieces of trolling motor on the front deck I heard a big splash. I look up to see my dog was gone. She is not a ballerina and slipped in to the lake with her clumsy self. Luckily she had on her vest and very calmly bobbed in the water for a second and then began to swim around. I let her take a couple laps around the boat while I got the trolling motor bits safe and then lifted her back on board by the vest straps.If I did not have this vest today I bet I would have had a big mess by needing to move quickly to save my rock of a dog. Also I thought that if she was to get to far from the boat and the fact my trolling motor was down I would have had to either use the main motor to snag her, which would not be very safe, or get wet myself to get her. I am very glad I bought this vest and today it certainly paid for itself.She has used it many times now on the lake and pool. It still looks new and is holding up extremely well. She has yet to protest wearing it and really seems to be confident around the water now.

Works on Spanish Greyhounds/Galgos! The float was comfortable and the belly band was nice and wide to hug her ribcage and still covered her belly so that it didn't slip. The bright yellow showed up well in the lake water and so far it hasn't torn on any rocks. Having the double handles worked out well to grab and lift when she wanted back up on the docks. 10/10 will buy again for next dog!

The fit was great. Easy to adjust. 45-50lb Lab/Viszla mix. No issues wearing it first time and pup appeared to be comfortable. Pup's 1st time boating in the Gulf of Mexico/ Tampa Bay. Lots of dogs in life jackets playing in the water. The bouyance gave him confidence to swim. The handles on the tops are great to help guide the dog back to the boat/ shore or hold onto during rough waves.As you can see we had a tired sailor after the day on the water. The price was reasonable as well.

I originally got a large for my old and arthritic 50# shepherd/heeler mix in 2015. I started to get worried that she would jump or fall off the float tube or follow me when I was paddling around the lake and wouldn't be able to make it back to shore, so I bought her one of these. It gave me some peace of mind and I started taking her with me more instead of leaving her at camp. I tried it on my new shepherd mix when I first adopted him in October 2018 and it just fit (he was about 70#). After a winter of fetch and long walks he had put on about 10# of muscle and the large didn't fit (it's been a while but I think his girth was 32"). According to the size chart the large should fit dogs up to 85# with a 32" girth, but there was no way those buckles were snapping together. I ordered an XL for him and it fits great. He loves to go kayaking with me and I feel much more secure knowing he has it on. I still have the large size and it's still in great shape. I plan on using it for my 60# lab mix when it gets warm enough. I'll update this review if I discover an issue when we start going on the water again. I really like these life jackets and have not directly experienced any issues with quality or performance but am only giving 4 stars because:1) I don't think there's any chance that the front flap will hold the dogs head out of the water if needed. It might work for small dogs, but for large dogs it just doesn't look reasonably possible. This is unfortunate as it's one of the advertised qualities that initially attracted me to this product.2) I don't think the grab handles would hold up very well with use as they are just sewn to the top of the jacket and are not part of the straps that go under the dogs chest. Some reviewers have noted this issue, but I think the packaging says they should only be used in an emergency. So maybe not the best option if you have a larger dog that you'll need to lift into boat or onto dock repeatedly. Again, probably fine for small dogs as the product quality seems decent. I just think it could've been designed better.3) Sizing issue as noted above.Update 02/13/22: Both jackets still holding up well. The one I bought in 2015 looks as good as the one I got in 2019. Still only use for fetching in water and kayaking. I do not use the handles to lift the dogs, they mostly just wear them while running about. I'm back today to order one for my 4-legged niece who loves to swim and run about, but gets stiff and sore very quickly. Also adding pictures, hope someone finds them helpful. Black and white dog is 60-65#, girth 30". Black and tan dog is about 80#, girth 32". Second picture is to show difference is size. Top life jacket is large (old style) and lower is extra large. Pink is medium I received by mistake.

This is a fabulous dog life jacket. We have an old lab that we were worried to take floating. He was set in his ways and would not take a step in it. I would recommend this to any dog owner. It was well made and did not look to have areas that would rub his skin. It has soft edges and the Velcro was strong and secure. Our lab is about 90lbs and the fit was perfect

Jensen is 85lbs, and the size large fit fine. It was a bit tight around his neck, but it served its purpose. We did have to leave his harness on under the life vest due to there not really being a spot to connect a leash. This is a good vest for the value. It dried quickly afterwords as well.

Works great on our 60lb Doodle mix. I feel much better knowing she’s wearing this while we’re boating. The handles on the top help pick her up to get her on/off the boat and she doesn’t seem to mind wearing it. We’ve used it for about a month so far so I can’t comment how long it will last but hopefully for more than just 1 season!

This product did the trick and helped my dog to be able to swim without the fear of sinking. LOL. He did great the first time he wore it, and you can see right away his confidence level increase as he move/swims around the pool. I think this is a great product if you are wanting some help in concurring your dog fear of the pool. The adjustments are great and easy to change. So if it is too big or too small the adjustments are easy to perform.

Ordered a size large for my Husky x Malamute, who weighs about 33kg.Fairly good quality but I did notice one of the straps was hard to tighten up as it kept coming loose when adjusting it. The front velcro flap could have been longer, but the underside velcro flap was perfect and offered lots of adjustability.Size was spot on, could have been a little longer in the back but provided extra buoyancy when she was swimming.The colour is also bright making her easier to spot in the water.She had no issues running around or swimming in it, and didn't show any discomfort whilst wearing it.Overall very happy with how quickly it was delivered and found it reasonable value for money.

My Boston terrier has never been a great swimmer...but he loves to play fetch in the water. He is getting older, and doesn't swim for long now... he tires out after half a dozen tosses. I bought him this life jacket and now he will play forever. He just loves it. He confidently paddles after the farthest tosses. It warms my heart. He just needed a little help and he's back to enjoying playtime like a puppy again.Very nice quality, great value for the money. Love the handle. Fit him very well, he's a medium, about 20 lbs.
