Review: Interesting perspectives, but not very well written - I did enjoy this book: - It was short and manageable - It lent itself to reading one or two pages, then some reflection - The author has some really good industry experience Unfortunately this book suffered in quality. Often it's unclear what the author means, and reads like unedited notes.

BUDDHA IN TESTING is a refreshing little book on software testing - not about textbook definitions, but about the author's personal thoughts, experiences, and learnings from his long journey as a tester and founder. I came across this book through Linkedin, and I'm glad I did. It offers meaningful insights and practical perspectives that genuinely aim to make a tester's professional life more balanced and peaceful. • Chapter 1 focuses on the fundamentals of testing, addressing the everyday chaos testers experience and how to find inner peace amidst it. It touches on core topics such as testing and automation, test coverage, testability, and different testing types including functional, regression, performance, and unit testing- explained in a thoughtful, experience-driven way. • Chapter 2 is my personal favorite. It discusses the common statements testers often hear. Lines like "You are our last line of defense, " Why did you miss the bug?" "Manual testing is dead," or "if you don't learn coding, you canft continue testing are explored deeply. This chapter can truly change the way you think, offering new perspectives that help bring confidence, clarity, and inner peace. • Chapter 3 talks about communicating with stakeholders whose primary focus isn't testing . It helps testers reframe how they present data and insights so communication becomes more effective and impaçtful. With many real-life examples from Pradeep's own experiences, the book feels less like a lecture and more like a conversation with a mentor. As someone who works with 40+ testing professionals, I can still see how valuable this guidance can be - espedially for those who are looking for direction or reassurance in their careers While the book is highly relevant for testers, I truly believe it's valuable for anyone working in IT. Thank you, Pradeep, for writing this book and helping so many of us find a path toward clarity and inner peace. Highly recommended. A great read!

I enjoy Pradeep's approachable language. It almost sounds like he is talking in my head. He doesn't try to sound academic or pretentious either. It has a conversational tone and could be useful for any software tester at any point in their career.

I began reading 'BUDDHA IN TESTING' on Wednesday. It was so captivating that I initially wanted to finish it in one sitting, indulging in some 'Binge Reading.' However, due to a client visit and the associated preparation and planning, I had to complete it in multiple sittings. Throughout the reading, it felt as if Pradeep was having a private conversation with me. I truly enjoyed his perspective, musings, and found myself in agreement with his thoughts on the tester's role, DNA, and concerns about "Testing" being perceived as the last line of defence. I appreciate how he linked Manual Testing to the art of Manual Photography—a skill that is challenging to master but can produce masterpiece photos, even in the age of advanced DSLRs and Drones. Given my passion for Photography, DSLRs, and Drones, this analogy resonated with me. I hope he continues to pen more books in the future. I'm eager to dive into 'THE GROWTH-DRIVEN TESTING.'
