Pointer, not level.
Be aware that this is a pointer, not a level. There are no lines, only five dots. It's well built like everything dewalt. It's got a nice case, battery operated. It's good as a pointer, not as a level.

Accurate, easy to use, great for ballister work.
Works good, and the level feature was accurate on my model. I tested by aligning laser dot on a spot on a 20 ft tall ceiling, marked the laser spot on the floor, then turned the laser 180 degrees and lined it up again. It was exactly on the same spot 20 ft in the air. My one (slight) negative was it seems a little expensive for only being point lights, no line projection. But I knew that when I bought it. Bottom line: this is the tool you must have when installing railing ballisters to ensure your railing holes are vertical and plumb to your tread holes. Works great for that!

Really easy to work with.
Easy to use, handy size, and I like the protective case. The instrument seems well made and accurate. The micro-adjust is nice, especially when trying to lock in on a target 40 or 50 feet away. My only beef is a small, but important one to us -- we wish the laser was just a little more powerful, or the optics just a little better, whatever it would take to give us a finer dot at distances around 80 to 100 feet. Even with that, the unit seems to be a good value.

Very useful
I got this for a birthday gift for my husband. He is a carpenter and loves everything Dewalt. He loved it! He was excited and said it is exactly what he needed and wanted.
